Field grown seasonal flowersLocated at Bungaree, near Ballarat Victoria, Florelie Seasonal Flowers is an Australian flower farm focusing on growing specialty cut flowers in a range of colours. We focus on those which are harder to find or more popular with floral designers – especially dahlias! We sell the majority of our flowers directly to local florists however bunches and bulk buckets can be ordered by the public. We sell dahlia tubers to home gardeners and other Australian flower farms so that they can enjoy growing their own beautiful cut flowers too! We have a large range of dahlia tubers for sale usually from July-November including varieties we have bred here on our farm. The online dahlia tuber shop usually opens for sale around July/August each year. We are not currently able to ship to WA, TAS and NT due to quarantine. We do not offer international shipping. Order the varieties you want NOW. Dormant Dahlia tubers are available at garden centers through the early spring months.
What is the latest you can plant dahlia tubers?How late can you plant dahlia tubers? You can plant dahlia tubers as late as May or June in most regions. When it comes to their blooming season, they should carry on up until frost.
What is the best month to plant dahlias?Dahlias are tender perennials grown from tubers and planted in the spring. Because dahlias don't grow well in cold soil, the key to growing vibrant, healthy dahlias is to plant them in late spring after soil temperatures reach 60 degrees F. A good rule of thumb is to wait until after your area's last spring frost date.
How many dahlias do you get from 1 tuber?One tuber = one dahlia plant = many blooms per plant. The number of blooms per plant varies, depending on the variety (the smaller the bloom, the more you tend to get per plant).
