Detective pikachu blu ray special edition

It's a fresh take on Pokémon movies in a film noir style, but is probably not appropriate for the really young or sensitive kiddos. Thematically, it's much more complex than most Pokémon movies, dealing with issues of intra-familial connections and personal growth. Also, tone of the movie is darker than most Pokémon media, and the ending doesn't wrap itself with a bow and easily determinable moral. The visuals are gorgeous, though. If you've ever wondered what a Blade Runner would look like in a Pokémon world, here you go. Whether at home, out and about in the city, or in nature, the Pokémon fit in nicely to create a believable AU. My biggest quibble is with Ryan Reynolds as Pikachu. It's not his voice acting per se, but some of the humor was more mature in tone and I kept waiting for him to bring it into the Deadpool zone. Obviously this doesn't happen, but if you plan a Deadpool/Detective Pikachu double feature, you might have the same issue. All in all, it's enjoyable but the themes and tone are best for a slightly older audience; One which still enjoys Pokémon.

In a world where people collect Pokmon to do battle, a boy comes across an intelligent talking Pikachu who seeks to be a detective.

One might hope that this would be a very useful listing for people with UHD 4K systems who would like additional 4K content. Unfortunately, in spite of the worthwhile effort, it’s instead a sad commentary on the sorry state of film culture in the U.S. that virtually none of the films in the listing are even worth seeing. I was only able to find about 8 films that I’d want to see at all, much less in 4K format. If you looked at top 100 greatest film lists of all times from reputable organizations you won’t find a SINGLE ONE of the greatest films produced on this listing. In a grossly capitalistic culture like ours, the only thing that counts for the home-market producers is the almighty dollar, which unfortunately seldom aligns with what is of greatest artistic merit. A few films that are missing from this list but are of greater merit than 95% of those listed are: Scarface, In the Heart of the Sea, Pulp Fiction, Magnificent Seven, and Wizard of Oz. Hope you read these messages and add this to the listing. I don’t do “Twitter” or any social media and I have never owned a cellphone – Luddite Film Afficionado

Thanks John! As far as the Jack Ryan movies, most of those are only available as Region B/2 at this time. We only list Region A/1 or Region Free on this list. It would be a really heavy page if we listed every region.

Thanks Thatcher! We must have dropped those rows somehow. Think you are right about Shutter Island though — can’t find it here in the US.

Hi Rodrigo. The reason we don’t have “Paddington 2” is because as far as we know it is only available in a B/2 region — not Region A/1 for North America+. This list is only Region A/1. As far as “Mia and the White Lion” it is only available in BD in the US. Thanks again for checking our work!

Per requests we have revised the list to have all “The” titles ordered by the following word. For example, “The Matrix” is now listed as “Matrix, The” therefore alphabetized under M.
Hope this helps!

It’s just a quicker way to find a title. Before changing the format there were about 70 movie titles starting with “The”. Anyway, we could always go back but wanted to try for a while. Thanks for the input!

Hi Ryan thanks. We know what you’re saying, and it would be great to do that. However, certain titles such as “A Few Good Men” and “A Wrinkle in Time” just don’t seem to make sense without the “A.” What do others think?
