Do pink and red go together

Do pink and red go together

A big trend I saw going strong all fashion week long was red and pink, a color combination that was formerly considered a HUGE fashion DON’T. I’ve learned that when it comes to fashion, you should never say never because you might just wear it one day! Designers have shown us these last two seasons that with a few small changes in colors, materials, and proportions, it’s possible to look fashionable in this color scheme without appearing like a Valentine’s Day character.

I put the trend to the test this week, and I have to say that I’m pleased with how it turned out. You can read on to get the rest of this look, and find out how to wear red and pink together too!

1. Start with smaller pieces

If you’re not sure how to wear red and pink together, I suggest starting with the smaller pieces that make up an outfit like shoes or a handbag. Red shoes have been super popular so it’s easy to put on a pair of red pumps or ankle boots and pair it with a pale pink top. You can try the same with a mini crossbody handbag. If you’re ready to try something other than red shoes, go for a magenta shade and mix it with a red top.

2. Mix and match different shades

There is a lot more to red and pink than what comes to mind! What I love most about the red and pink color trend is that a softer pink looks beautiful with oxblood. Or you can match dusty pink with bright red. Fashion is all about experimenting so don’t be shy about wearing items and colors you have never worn before.

3. Break up your look

Based on what I’ve seen on the streets, the best red and pink looks are those that are complemented up with metallic or neutral pieces. I chose a mirrored clutch to enhance my look. But I also love outfits that include a thick waist belt, white boots, or a tan/nude jacket. By adding a neutral element, the whole outfit feels much more elevated and classy.

4. Play with different materials

Texture is essential for making a pink and red outfit amazing! Think about how you can blend chiffon, organza, leather, vinyl, and cotton together to achieve a unique but uniform outfit. The best combinations to me are those that mix soft textures with strong ones. For example, a chiffon blouse with a leather jacket. It’s all about a uniform diversion.

What do you guys think about wearing red and pink together?

Is red and pink a good color combination?

Red and pink are oftentimes considered “clashing colors,” but since they're actually analogous colors (next to each other on the color wheel), these two shades can be paired together to create some surprisingly chic looks.

What kind of pink goes with red?

The combinations that I find work best are pastel pink with true red or deep red and bright pink with true red or orange red. If you like to look visually more coordinated then the former two are best. If you like dressing boldly then the latter two is the way to go!

Does red fit with pink?

However, the sister shades are actually two of the easiest colours to combine and — when styled well — pink and red make for a powerful, punchy combination that will elevate and add fun to your outfit.

Can you mix red and pink together?

Based on how you look at the resulting color, mixing pink and red paint results in either darker pink or a lighter red. This color is commonly referred to as rose pink or raspberry pink. Pink is created by combining red and white. As you add pink to red, the outcome color becomes deeper and much closer to red.
