But the part that bothers me isn't that Bella ends up with Edward. It's the fact that Jacob basically ends up with Bella's newborn daughter.

So first off, can we just acknowledge how CREEPY this is??! Yeah, Renesmee ages really quickly (because of hybrid baby rules or whatever), but she's still a CHILD. Even if Jacob starts off having a "big brother" relationship with her, it doesn't make it any less weird. If anything, that makes it WEIRDER.
As if this wasn't bad enough, Jacob tells Bella that he was never actually in love with her — he was just attracted to Bella because of her eggs. Because of some tiny half-embryo that was apparently calling out to him from Bella's womb?!
I have SO MANY questions. What would have happened if Bella had another baby instead of Renesmee? Would Jacob have just stopped being attracted to Bella if she'd had a period instead of getting pregnant? And does this mean Jacob was attracted to Edward too?! Does Jacob get with Renesmee?

In an interview with E! News on August 25, the actor shared that he would be happy to return to the franchise that launched his career in 2008. Lautner starred as Jacob in all four movies alongside Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, who played Bella Swan and her broody vampire boyfriend, Edward Cullen, respectively.

“He’s a good character that is easy to love, so I would never say no to that,” Lautner told E! “Because it’s Jacob Black. He’s a lovable guy.”

Throughout the franchise, Bella was often torn between the werewolf and the vampire (remember all the Team Edward and Team Jacob merch?!) but ultimately married the man with the sparkly skin and a silver Volvo. This is where things get particularly…controversial.

After Bella gives birth to the creepiest CGI baby/toddler ever rendered, in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn—Part 2, Jacob imprints upon the half-vampire child. While Jacob insists his feelings for Renesmee (Mackenzie Foy) will remain completely platonic until later in her life (as does Twilight author Stephenie Meyer), Bella (and most of the fandom) find their relationship to be unsettling at best.

“Everybody likes to tease me about it,” Lautner told Entertainment Weekly in 2012. “Everyone thinks it’s so funny, and I laugh along with them, but it’s important for me to keep in my mind that it’s as simple as a lifelong bond. It’s not nearly as creepy as everybody likes to joke.”

So recently I've been rewatching the Twilight movies. I've always been Team Jacob (sorry, Edward!), so I was pretty upset with how the love triangle ended.

By imprinting on Renesmee, Jacob has imbued her with protection from other werewolves in his tribe. Prior to taking her on as a romantic partner, Jacob would first act as an older brother to Renesmee until she grew up – which won't take long given her hybrid nature, which makes her age more quickly.

Why did Jacob imprint Bella's daughter?

After Renesmee looked at Jacob in his eyes, he imprinted on her … but it doesn't necessarily mean that he fell in love with her while she was still a baby. Rather, Jacob's imprint on Renesmee created a bond between them that, hopefully, would be more protective than romantic.

Will Jacob age with Renesmee?

While she remains in Forks, Jacob will not age, as werewolves stop ageing when vampires appear, and resume ageing when they leave (hence Jacob's father).
