Spy x Family is shaping up to be one of the greatest anime in recent memory because of how fun it is and how it actually transcends genre biases. In that regard, it has received excellent reviews from fans and critics alike due to its unique plot. Of course, the entire plot of the anime focuses on the personal secrets of each of the members of the Forger family. But do the Forgers find out about each other in Spy x Family?

As of this writing, the Forgers don’t know about each other’s secrets. The only member of the Forger family aware of the secrets of the other members is Anya because of her telepathic abilities. But the Forgers might find out about one another near the end of Spy x Family.

So much of Spy x Family’s story rests on the secrets of each member of the fake family such that the entire narrative might change if they happen to find out about one another. There have been close calls where each member nearly finds out about one another, but they ultimately still don’t know about their secrets. That said, let’s look at what we know about the secrets of the Forgers.

What Are The Forgers’ Secrets In Spy X Family?

One of the best anime series to hit the screens in 2022 is Spy x Family, which is shaping up to be among the favorites of every anime lover out there. That’s because the series tends to combine comedy, romance, and action in a feel-good story that tends to fit everyone’s taste in a good anime. And the plot of the entire Spy x Family series focuses on the secrets of each member of the family.

Basically speaking, every member of the Forger family in Spy x Family has a secret that adds to the entire narrative of the series. It is the very fact that they all have secrets that have allowed the plot to materialize, as this fake family is a product of the different agenda that every member of the family has in relation to their own secrets.

So, in short, the entire Forger family is built on secrets and the family set up that they are in benefit each other because they are able to live their hidden lives normally under this fake family arrangement. And with that said, let’s look at the different secrets that each member of the Forger family has.

What Is Loid Forger’s Secret?

The Spy x Family opens up with the introduction of Twilight, a spy working for the government of Westalis. He is the greatest asset that the government of Westalis has because of his ability as a master of disguise. On top of the fact that he can easily disguise himself as any person, he is also great at acquiring information.

At the beginning of the series, Twilight is given the new identity of Loid Forger, who works as a psychiatrist. His newest mission was to start a family so that he could infiltrate an elite school where the son of his newest target, who only attends social gatherings that are related to the school, goes. As such, Loid needed a daughter that would allow him to get close to his target so that he could help prevent an all-out war from happening between the two nations.

On top of that, Loid also needed a wife because admission to the school required that both parents were present at the interview. That is why he had an arrangement with Yor, who was willing enough (for her own reasons) to act as Loid’s wife.

In that regard, Loid’s secret is the fact that he is the superspy named Twilight. He has mastered the art of keeping his identity hidden very well because all of his missions involve him taking on different personas.

What Is Anya Forger’s Secret?

Anya Forger is the second main character introduced in the Spy x Family anime. She was adopted by Loid Forger, who was looking for a daughter that was smart enough to enter the private school where his newest target’s son was attending. However, what Loid didn’t know was that this seemingly cute and innocent girl harbored a secret of her own.

The truth is that Anya Forger has telepathic abilities as a result of an experiment conducted by an unknown organization. She was able to escape the facility and managed to find herself in an orphanage. Anya was adopted several times but was returned several times as well before Loid adopted her.

Anya is a fan of spy TV shows, and that’s why she actually wanted to get adopted by Loid Forger. By reading his mind, she was able to find out that her adoptive father was a spy working for the government and had a mission to fulfill.

Considering that Anya craved adventure due to how she loved watching spy TV shows, she wanted to become a part of Loid’s life. She was also responsible for bringing Loid and Yor together after she found out about her fake mother’s secret identity, which she thought would add more excitement to her life.

Due to the fact that Anya Forger is a telepath, she is the only member of the Forger family who knows everyone’s secret.

What Is Yor Forger’s Secret?

Yor Forger is the third member to join the Forger family. She was introduced as a common civil servant who was living a seemingly normal life. However, the truth was that she was always an assassin called Thorn Princess.

The problem, however, was that women all over the city were being brought in for questioning, especially if they were unmarried because the government was wary of spies. On top of that, she was experiencing pressure from her workmates and her brother in relation to her status as a single woman.

To remedy her problem, she entered an arrangement with Loid to become his fake wife so that they could live their lives without suspicion or pressure. She knew about Loid wanting a wife so that Anya could enter the private school without suspicion, but she didn’t know the true reason behind it.

Of course, Loid doesn’t know that the reason why Yor wanted to enter into this fake family arrangement is so that she could continue her life as an assassin without the government becoming too suspicious of her. What Loid only knew was that she wanted to get married so that she could make her brother happy.

At this point, none of the Forgers know about each other’s secrets except for Anya. Of course, the only reason why Anya knows about the secrets of the other Forgers is the fact that she is a telepath. She was also the one responsible for bringing Loid and Yor together.

Other than that, neither Loid nor Yor know about each other’s secret identities even in the manga. There were a few close calls, but they never really thought more about each other’s secret identities. For one, Loid is too focused on the mission that he often overlooks Yor’s superior fighting abilities. On the other hand, Yor is just too gullible that she would believe anything that Loid says regarding his line of work.

Of course, Loid and Yor also don’t know about Anya’s telepathic powers. The only reason why she doesn’t want anyone to know about her secret ability is the fact that she doesn’t want them to think that she’s a freak. Anya is afraid of rejection because she had been returned to the orphanage numerous times in the past due to her being “weird.” As such, she doesn’t want her adoptive parents to know that she is a telepath out of fear that they would also return her.

Considering that Spy x Family’s narrative relies heavily on the fact that each member of the Forger family has a secret, it is unknown whether or not the manga will eventually allow all of them to learn about each other’s secrets. But it is possible that this will happen in the future, and we are banking that it will happen near the end of the entire Spy x Family story.
