1. Rio Vista Off Leash Dog Park

Fenced area on Hugh King Drive where dogs can run around without a leash. Small and large dogs can play separately while owners enjoy the natural shade.

2. Australian Inland Botanic Gardens

Discover a range of Australian natives and exotic plants, heritage trees and a 2500 years old Rose Garden with your pup on leash. Make sure you carry your own poo bag on this beautiful dog friendly walk 

3. Kings Billabong Wildlife Reserve

These wetlands located on Mildura’s doorstep, bordering the Murray, are home to a variety of waterbirds. There are some easy to moderate dog friendly walks that you can enjoy with your pup on the lead. 

4. Apex Park Sandbar

Relaxing beach for you and your dog to enjoy the walk by the river, with tree shade, barbeques and access to walking tracks.

5. Woodsies Gem Shop

This family owned and operated jewellery and gemstones business has become a must-see tourist attraction. Pups are not allowed inside the showroom, but they can run around the playground and large grassy area with heaps of cover, shade and tables where you can enjoy a snack from the cafeteria in this gem in the outskirts of Mildura.

6. The River Runs Through

A dynamic art installation nestled in the bend of the Murray River, in a floodplain reserve called Merbein Common, just north-west of Mildura. The artwork is presented on the walls of an old refrigerated storage shed, in an open space that lights up in the night. Keep your dog on lead as the area is not fenced and is on a main road. 

7. Mildura City Market

Held on the second Sunday of every month in the Mildura City Heart Mall, this dog friendly market offers fresh fruit and vegetables, books, woodwork, jewellery and more. Dogs are welcome but must be on lead, careful around tables, and cleaned after. 

8. Merbein Market

Run on every third Sunday of the month, the dog friendly Merbein Street Market has a variety of stalls selling fresh locally grown produce, arts and crafts, and more. Dogs are welcome on lead in this market just a ten minute drive from Mildura. 

9. Mildura Paddle Steamers

Family owned and operated business that offers dog friendly cruises departing from Mildura Wharf twice a day. Dogs are allowed on board except during school holidays.

10. Orange World

Tourist attraction with educational tours around the orchard on a 70 seat tractor train that your pup is welcome to climb on.

11. Oak Valley Estate

Boutique dog friendly winery located on the site of one of Mildura’s earliest farms. They welcome dogs with a fresh bowl of water out the front in the covered outdoor patio.

Dog friendly winery / cellar door set amongst grape vines and palm trees. Enjoy the tastings of local wines, cheese platters and light meals in the outdoor area with lots of trees and umbrellas where your pup can sit by your side with the lead on.

Another dog friendly winery cellar door located in the heart of Mildura, offering tastings of award-winning local wines. They are happy to have supervised dogs on a leash on their grassed area, and they provide dog bowls and water. However, dogs are requested to stay away from dining customers.

Bar and live music venue on Langtree Avenue, with a dog friendly front patio, shelter and blinds, fans and misters. 

16. Irymple Hotel

Family owned and run dog friendly pub just under six kilometers away from Mildura. Dogs visit regularly as they are welcome in the outdoor area with a covered corner.

17. Mildura Working Man’s Club

The Workers is a dog friendly establishment. Pups are welcome in front of the bistro on Deakin Avenue, in the covered seating area.

Lots of dogs visit this quirky dog friendly cafe overlooking the Murray on the Mildura riverfront, offering delicious food and coffee. Pups get a free treat on arrival, and the menu includes freshly baked pupcakes and dog friendly biscuits. There is tree shade and a beautiful view.

Enjoy fresh local cuisine with your pup at the Mildura Riverfront. This dog friendly cafe has a relaxing outdoor area that’s partly covered in the midday and then fully covered in the evening.

Super dog friendly breakfast and lunch restaurant, with specialty coffee and plenty of undercover seating with water available for all furry friends. 

21. Nash Lane Coffee Co.

Good coffee, nice food and humans’ best friend, all meet at this cafe. The staff will make sure your pup gets fresh water while you indulge in homemade cakes under the vines and the umbrellas.

22. Dockside Marina Cafe and Boat Hire

Fully licensed Australian restaurant offering breakfast and lunch from Thursday to Monday on the Murray River. Walk around the Marina with your furry friend and stop for a coffee on their dog friendly partly covered outdoor deck. You can also hire a pontoon boat and bring your pup along. 

23. Golly Cafe Bakery

Family owned cafe bakery with a dog friendly sheltered area out the front where customers can sit with their pups. 

24. Shippy’s Cafe

Converted shipping container on the banks of the Murray river that serves very affordable food and beverages. They are dog friendly and have umbrellas to provide shade. 

25. Vista Cafe Bar

Vista at the Mildura Arts Centre serves coffee, light meals and locally produced cakes. Dogs are most welcome to hang out with their families on the lawns in front of the Mildura Arts Centre, under the umbrellas on the veranda of Rio Vista Historic House, or in the cafe’s outdoor sitting area. This fully licensed bar also provides water dispensers for pups.
