Elden ring power stance vs two hand

Unfortunately unlike ds2 there is no mixed powerstance, any powerstance weapons must be of the same weapon type as far as I can tell.

Powerstancing has pros and cons.

some pros are if you are using weapons that have auxiliary effects (like bleed or poison) and you attack with both weapons you'll build the meter faster, you aslo have the opportunity to dish out more damage.

Probably the biggest con is you can't guard at all (unless your using one of the few weapons that come automatically paired when you two hand but that's not technically a powerstance) so you have to learn spacing and dodging a little better

which is generally better (for damage, speed and more importantly, poise damage).

thanks

i have many names, and none of them matter..

I think power stance wins out in speed and poise damage, but dunno about damage wise. Most power stance combos from what I've seen are very strong though.

Backlog is massive, but I still buy games anyway.

It wins in damage too. Some weapons have better move sets 2h than when powerstanced, and of course colossals can't be parried when 2h. That's pretty much the only advantage when it comes to 2h I can think of, but someone else probably knows more than me.

Powerstancing wins in DPS, Stagger and poise but heavily loses in stamina usage and equipment burden

My escape is death, but not this one.

Powerstance allows for higher stagger damage and allows you to poise through many attacks even with minimal poise stat

The con is you are wielding two weapons which can be heavy to use (as compared to two hand)

However some two hands like colossal weapons tend to do just as good with dual wielding greatsword for example

Plus PS let’s you attack with different affin/ailments quickly (bleed, poison, ice, etc)

Yeah... powerstancing colossals kind of suck for elden bling since you're likely gonna have to sacrifice it due to the weight. Powerstanced Ruins GS for example is just brutal when it comes to your equip burden.

If you don't use R2, powerstance. If you use R2, why you powerstancing.
Best of both worlds, learn to quick swap.

It's definitely rough, you basically need to run the jar arsenal Talisman and Erdtree Favor +2 Talisman just to barely manage a second Colossal weapon on a high Endurance build.

the more I play the more I’m convinced there’s no reason NOT to dual wield if you can.

Is a two

There are a variety of reasons to wield a weapon with both hands, but the simplest and most obvious reason is that two-handing a weapon grants you additional attack power. While the damage increase isn't as significant as you might expect, it's certainly enough to make it a viable choice when a shield isn't required.

Is power stance good in Elden Ring?

Luckily, the power stance mechanic from previous Souls games carries over into Elden Ring. Power stance is the ability to wield two weapons, one in each hand, as long as they're from the same class. It's one that can be of great aid to ensure a smoother experience in combat.

Is dual

Depends! It can vary from weapon to weapon and your stats. Essentially, when you two hand a weapon, you'll get more damage out of it based on your strength stat. It's also useful because if you don't exactly meet the specs of a weapon, sometimes two-handing it will "boost" them enough to let you use it anyway.

Does two handing weapons increase strength Elden Ring?

Wielding an Armament with two hands will multiply your Strength with that armament by 1.5. If an armament scales with Strength, it will deal more damage when used two-handed. In addition, strength requirements can be met by two-handing.
