Here are some of my favorite faces from the FREE download! Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas and Mickey Mouse! You can use these templates on real pumpkins or fake, foam pumpkins. We’ve also included The GRINCH which I’ve seen around my neighborhood even at Halloween time. Everyone loves The Grinch and with that Grinchy face he sorta goes with Halloween!

We’ve got a really great selection of simple, easy, silly, spooky and scary jack o lantern faces that can be carved in a few minutes with a Pumpkin Carving Kit or tools from your kitchen. Don’t be afraid to mix and match the eyes, nose and mouth to create a custom look for your jack o lantern.

How to Use Our FREE Printable Pumpkin Stencils:

You can download our FREE printable pumpkin stencils from our printables library (link to our library is at the bottom of this page). Pumpkin size can vary! You may want to adjust the size of our template by a percentage (up or down) in print settings dialogue box at print time based on the size of your pumpkin.

First, trim down the template so you don’t have a lot of excess paper and it’s just the jack o lantern face. Tape the template to the front of the pumpkin. It helps to cut small slits around the paper template and at the corners so it will fit flat against the faux pumpkin.

Using a plastic push pins or a pumpkin poking tool (like you might find in a store bought pumpkin carving kit) trace around the edge of the of the pumpkin template. The more holes you poke the better your carving will turnout.

When you’ve completely outlined the stencil with holes from the plastic push pins remove the paper template. Your pumpkin should look something like the image below.

Cut a round hole in the top of your pumpkin that includes the pumpkin stem which will be used as a lid handle. Save this top for later. Using the scooping tool from your Pumpkin Carving Kit or a large spoon, clean out all of the seeds and guts from inside the pumpkin and set aside.

Use the knife from your Pumpkin Carving Kit or a serrated kitchen knife to start carving your pumpkin face out of the pumpkin. Remove pieces and discard. When pumpkin has been carved add a candle, LED candle or a spooky LED pumpkin light to the inside of the pumpkin.
