(Pocket-lint) - These days, with every other company having its own launcher, you can quickly find that your PC game library is spread out across multiple applications.

Wouldn't it be nice if all of those games were accessible from one centralised library, allowing you to jump right into your desired game with minimal fuss?

If you're a PC gamer, you most likely already have Steam installed. So let's add those non-Steam titles into your library for easy access.

One thing that's important to note, before we get stuck in, is that adding games to your Steam library only creates a shortcut to the game. So you won't be able to download updates through Steam, but it sure does beat searching through multiple launchers to find your game.

How to add non-Steam games to your library

Adding non-Steam titles to your library is a lot easier than you might think. Although it can be a little time-consuming for those with very large collections. Here's how it works.

  1. First, open Steam and log in to your account
  2. Next, go to the Games menu at the top of the window
  3. Click Add a Non-Steam Game to My Library
  4. A list of installed programs will appear, check the boxes next to the games you'd like to install
  5. Alternatively, click Browse to manually seek out any games that don't appear in the list
  6. Once, you've made your selection click Add Selected Programs

Once that's done, your other games will appear in your library right next to your Steam games.

How to add Windows games and apps to your Steam library

When it comes to applications and games downloaded from the Microsoft Store or Xbox Game Pass titles, things get a little more complicated - but don't worry, we've got you covered there too.

  1. First, you'll need to download an open-source tool called UWPHook from GitHub
  2. When you install the app you may get a SmartScreen notification, but don't panic, we didn't find anything untoward with the app
  3. Open UWPHook and click the Load installed UWP apps symbol to find your installed programs
  4. Find your Windows games in the list a check the boxes next to them
  5. Then, click on Export selected apps to Steam and wait for UWPHook to do its thing
  6. Once it's complete, you'll need to restart your system before the games appear in your Steam library

Should you run into any issues, a good place to start is the UWPHook subreddit. Otherwise, you're well on your way to single-library nirvana.
