Am I just an idiot? Can't begin the game.

The guitar obviously powers on. I'm at the title screen, being told to "press any button on guitar controller."

None of them do anything, except for the tall silo that drops me out of the game to the "which account is playing?" PS4 dashboard screen. I've closed the application and relaunched it, to no avail. All I'm supposed to do is press the little button on the USB plug and then press Power on the guitar like it says just before the title screen, right?

I don't get it. For those able to rock, I salute you. Help?

The guitar powers on, but do you have it synced to the dongle? Once you have it synced the first time, you don't need to press the button on the dongle again unless you want to resync your guitar.

When the guitar's synced, you should have a steady light indicating which player number you are. When it's flashing, it's not connected and when it's flashing fast it's in sync mode.

I had difficulty as well and it got a bit frustrating.
But plug in the usb attachment. power on guitar (all lights should be blinking). press the button on the end of the usb plug to sync the guitar (should cause a single light to be illuminated on the guitar). After you start the game - the 3 row of buttons on the end of the guitar, the one on the far end is going to be your 1(select) button and the middle one is going to be your 2(back) button.
