Hello, does Illustartor have the function "gradation curves" also like Photoshop, or at least a function how to increase the resolution of an image with three or more colors? I want to make the resolution of my logo as high as possible.

Greetings

Gradation curves doesn't alter the resolution of a file. Not even in Photoshop.

If your logo is a pure vector file, there's no need to worry about resolution.

In short: I want to insert a normal image from my PC into Illustrator. It's an image from the Internet. I paste it into Illustrator, but when I zoom in, it's pixelated. How can I improve the quality of the image with Illustrator?

You can only have the resolution that the image from the internet was saved as. So if you downloaded something, you could open it in Photoshop and look at Image Size to see the pixel dimensions, width and height. So for example if it's 800px wide by 600px tall, fairly common on blogs, that's the max resolution of that file.

In Photoshop you can increase the resolution a little but if you do more than 10% you will start to see interpolation (reprocessing artifacts) that won't look good.

The short answer is you can't. Illustrator is not made for working with pixels and certainly not for improving an image. If you zoom in on any image, it will eventually pixelate. Depending on what you want to do with it, you might be able to trace the image or redraw it. But if the image is of a low resolution and you zoom in on it, there isn't anything you can do about it in either AI or Photoshop for that matter.

I need to do a PowerPoint presentation and I need pictures for that. Unfortunately all pictures are pixelated when I insert them into Powerpoint. I also tried it with Photoshop, where you can edit the images so that they are no longer pixelated, but even then the quality of the images is still poor when I insert them into Powerpoint.

Inserting a properly large image into PowerPoint should not result in a pixelated image. Here is a link about resolution:

Understanding resolution

Perhaps that will help you understand how to find a proper image to use in you presentation. Also make sure you are actually using the insert function, not just dragging your images into PowerPoint.

Hi Fabio,

If you need pictures for a PowerPoint presentation and the pictures are pixelated, then Illustrator is not the proper tool for the job. You only need Photoshop and PowerPoint.

Which site are you buying your pictures from? Adobe Stock? iStock photo? Somewhere else?

Copy and paste will give you a lower resolution than downloading the image. If you tell us where you are getting the image, we might be able to better assist.

Fabio,

Every raster image will show up pixelated if you zoom in far enough.

The only question is: is the resolution sufficient at the final size at the intended viewing distance?

That only depends on one thing, namely the pixel x pixel size of the image which is not changed in AI in any way whatsoever.

The only way to make the pixel x pixel size smaller is to Export it at a resolution that is too low (or Legacy Save for Web inin a size that is too small).

Illustrator is a vector based program, so resolution isn't something that is really used other than when you are using raster effects in the document. You set up raster effects when you define the document under the advance settings (see image below). But I think the real question is how is the ultimate image being used and what is the export settings for that document? That might be where you are having the problem.
