How long does a spray tan last Reddit

I've had several spray tans, both in a booth and the awkward moment when someone sprays you...while you're basically naked.

The booth spraytan is very straight-forward. It will bleed a teeny bit immediately after, but that's it. I had more issues with the custom spray-on tan in terms of bleeding. The custom spray-on was also easily removed with Dove soap which I thought was weird. The custom tan looked better, for sure, but it was more high-maintenance than the booth one.

Make sure that if you wear a protective cap over your hair that it stays off of your forehead. Take off hair bands, watches, etc to prevent a line.

+1 to exfoliating and moisturizing beforehand!

I'm trying to decide if I want to get a spray tan for my wedding day. Until about 5 years ago I was living in a beach town, working outside on the weekends, riding horses daily and just generally exposed to a lot of sun. I was a nice glowy tan and had "perma tan-lines" even through the winter.

These days I live in Chicago and pretty much never see the light of day. I think I went to the lake front beach once last year. My "perma tan-lines" have faded and I am no where near the color I used to be...which is fine, because as with all major cities everyone around me is non-tanned as well.

I do think I would feel and look better with a spray tan especially because it is during the summer, in the afore mentioned beach town. I'm just struggling to find non-filtered b&a pictures of people with spray tans...it seems like most tanning places post "after" pics- which is not helpful because I don't know what they looked like before, or they post before and immediately after pics- which again, is not helpful because the tan hasn't fully developed.

And if you just so happen to know of any great spray tan places in Rhode Island...I'll take those suggestions too ;)

This is something I really want to do. I'm not great at applying it on myself.

I would expect it to last about as long as self applied. I top up with Dove gradual tan lotion in the evenings and get about 5 days. I then spend 2 days exfoliating and reapplying. Would love to just get a spray once a week.

How long does a spray tan last Reddit

I got a groupon for a spray tan recently and had a good experience with the place. I found out that they offer a deal where you can get 4 tans a month with a minimum of a 3 month contract for $120. So that would be $10 a tan vs the regular $20. It seems worth it to me, but I've only ever gotten one spray tan in my life and it seems like a lot of prep. Would 4 spray tans a month work? Would the tan just build up or would you need to exfoliate at the end of each week? Does anyone get regular spray tans? I feel so much more confident with a tan and would love to have one all through the winter months

How long does a spray tan last Reddit

Title pretty much says it all. I’m getting married in a month and would like to get a spray tan. I’m getting one this week as a trial to make sure I like and what not, but i have no idea what i need to do to prepare or what not to do or have on.. or what even to wear to get the spray tan in?? Any details would be very very much appreciated.

I’m not planning on getting a super dark spray tan, just a natural looking one a few shades darker so i don’t look like a pale ghost.

Use the barrier cream!!! A ton of it! Don't do anything that will make you sweaty after. Allow 6-8 hours to fully develop before showering. Make sure you ask the employees what spray would look best on you and not orange! I personally use a self tan water mist on my face to keep it even throughout the week.

Never had a spray tan done professionally but, I know from my own fake tan experience exfoliating is essential. Typically I start the prep process 4-5 days before I tan. Shave, exfoliate then use a moisturiser. I tend to use a heavy moisturiser on dryer areas (knees/legs). Moisturise each day leading up to the day of the tan. In terms of what to wear for a professional fake tan, I'm not entirely sure. I would say a baggy top and pants? When I tan at home I wear an old dressing gown and old joggers. Hope that helps :)

Definitely exfoliate and shave the morning of or night before! I usually put a tiny bit of lotion on my elbows and back of my ankles where I know I’m really dry. Wear loose clothes, something dark or something you don’t care about getting the guard color on- it usually doesn’t stain for me but you want to be careful. If you’re going in a booth you usually go in naked but when I’ve been sprayed by someone they usually say undress to your level of comfort so you could wear a bikini, go topless, go fully nude, whatever you feel like! I also usually wear a strapless bra or no bra to and from the appointment so I don’t get strap lines while the tan is setting.

I used to spray tan weekly for like 2 years. before you go shower, exfoliate and shave. do not apply lotion or makeup or anything like that or it will mess up the tan application. if you are going to a place with a spray tan booth, it is most common to just go in without anything on to avoid tan lines, but if you are having someone manually spray you i would wear a strapless bikini top and swim bottoms. let me know if you have any more questions!

Seconding what everyone else is saying.

In addition, you may need to adjust your skincare routine to keep from removing the tan off your face or get an extra face tanner to reapply every few days. If you use any retenoids, AHAs, BHA/Salicylic Acid, or Benzyl Peroxide, they will take your tan off.

this may vary for others but i always shave with atleast 24 hours before my tan, if i shave too close i feel like it doesn’t show up as well!

Get a green based self Tanner/spray tan!! It looks so much more natural than an orange based one! Also exfoliate your skin for a few days and moisturise a lot. On the day you’re getting the tan done, shave where you want the tan, don’t put on any moisturiser afterwards. Use moisturiser every day after getting the spray tan to get it to last longer.

How long does a spray tan last on you?

How Long Does It Last? Because your skin is constantly creating new skin cells on the epidermis level, any skin treatment will fade over time. Spray tans generally last for 7-10 days, depending on the coverage you requested; if you wanted a lighter color, your tan could fade more quickly.

How long after a spray tan does it stop developing?

Your colour will continue to develop and darken for a few hours (and a spray tan takes up to 24 hours to develop fully).

Is it OK to get a spray tan every week?

Although you can get a spray tan as often as you want, we recommend coming in every 9-12 days to give you time to enjoy your current tan, exfoliate, and prepare your skin for your next appointment. Maintaining a proper spray tan care routine will help you keep an even spray tan.

How many days after a spray tan does it look best?

Spray tans always look best at least a day or two after your appointment so make sure to give yourself enough time between your appointment and the big day. We recommend getting your wedding spray tan about two days in advance.
