It was fixed pretty quickly and meanwhile a rep. from Delta boarded the plane, apologizing for our inconvenience and handed out Jolly Ranchers. REALLY? After that, she and the flight attendants did give us a free drink/headset coupon. That would have been nice but it expires Dec. 2017 and the flight attendant stopped serving drinks about half way down the aisle because the flight was so short. The coupon will be of no use to me. I finally got to Raleigh about 9:30...I booked the flight so I wouldn't have to drive at night.. Sigh....Delta used to be my favorite airline."

There was a delay because the flight crew came from another arriving flight, so they had to go through the full pre-flight checklist. Then there was a "minor maintenance issue" that couldn't be fixed right away because it was "shift change" for the maintenance crews. Eventually they arrived and fixed whatever, while everyone was getting texts and alerts that kept delaying the departure by 15-minute intervals. Over an hour (while sitting in a warm plane) after the original scheduled departure, we left the gate, sat on the taxiway a while, then took off. Cabin crew only had cookies and drinks, no other snacks or food. All anyone got was an apology for the extended delay."

Cons: "AA is now trying to save money (presumably) by doing like Delta: forcing half of us to connect in Charlotte. Unfortunately, the Charlotte airport is not ready to accommodate so many people. The airport looks like it is being renovated, which is fine, but there is no tape/cones to mark off the renovated areas from the walkways. You literally walk through dirt and construction sites. I didn't even think that was legal in the US?! Anyway, maybe it will be worth it once the renovations are complete, especially if AA is going to use it as a hub."

Cons: "The plane was incredibly hot and humid while we were on the ground. The stewardess told us we had a broken APU but would not tell us what that is or if it was actually a problem. Someone pressed the call button during the flight but the stewardess couldn't be bothered to get up and the call light stayed on the whole flight. Eventually the plane cooled some once we were airborne but stayed too warm. It got very hot once again when we landed."

I had over a 3 hour wait in Greenville. In New Bern, they did an additional security check on my shoes, these were flip flops, really? In Greenville, they did an additional check on my carryon bag and threw my toothpaste away, it was over 3 ounces, it had passed other points, no restaurants in Greenville, NC airport, only vending machines and 2 were broken. .Seating was pretty tight too! 3 hr for next flight"

I have had literally the worst airline experience of my life today with United airlines. With confirmation number BS2EL9, my flight was set to go from Atlanta to Burbank, with a connection in San Francisco. The flight from Atlanta was delayed about 10 minutes, however, they assured us that we would arrive in San Francisco at the correct time of 9:39 AM with enough time to get to our connecting flights. They lied. Whereas we did arrive in San Francisco at around 9:39 AM, the plane taxied for approximately 15 or more minutes before letting anyone off of the plane. Still, I ran to my connecting flight before it left the runway at 10:10am. However, I was not permitted to step onto the plane by the fellow at the gate at the time. He told me that because boarding time was over at 9:55a, he would not let me step on the plane even though it was still on the runway. I was upset. I went to customer service and explained my situation to them. Speaking with a girl named Krystin S., I explained that I really needed to get to Burbank on time, before 2 o'clock. Today, I had a final for school, a meeting, and interview with a job, and I had to drop my dog off at the vet for an appointment which costed around $150. Krystin told me that there was nothing she could do, and offered me only a meal voucher. I was offended, and declined the voucher. I then spoke to customer service and they told me there was nothing they could do after informing me that the flight that they switched my flight to was delayed yet another hour and I would not arrive until 350pm. This is absolutely unacceptable, and I need a remedy. Far larger than a simple meal voucher. I have lost more money by missing my flight to Burbank because of the Atlanta airport lying to me then the flight was even worth. Also, I requested to speak to someone, but the representative on the phone said they didn't have a phone number to speak to anyone which adds to the cumbersome nature of this issue. Please contact me back, as soon as possible. I'm very upset at the situation. David Larkins"

Cons: "When I checked in at Newark, I upgraded my seat from 22 B to 7B for $55. I also paid $25 for my small piece of luggage. I was told there may be a lot of suitcases and it was better to check it. When on the plane, a stewardess came up to me and asked to see my boarding pass (which was scanned when I got onto the plane.) I gave it to her and she never returned it to me. I get an EMAIL while in Atlanta, saying my seat on the flight was canceled because I was a NO SHOW on the 27th to go down to Atlanta. I had the receipt of my seat upgrade, my receipt for the checked luggage, and the tag on the luggage. I called United who said I wasn't on the plane. After a long conversation, she said she fixed it. I get to the Atlanta airport on 10/31, and I was not in the system. I had to get a supervisor and they said my seat was gone and I may not be able to get back to NJ that day. After the agent called United Headquarters, they finally got me on the plane. I was told once again I should check my luggage and shelled out another $25. I then get to the gate, and the agent at the gate was asking for 10-20 people to check their luggage for FREE. That was it for me. I will not fly United again, and have already requested that my Executive Admin's not use United and use other airlines when they book business trips because I would hate for anyone to have to go through what I did. I am 44, have been flying since I was 5, and have never had anything like this happen and don't want it to happen to anyone else I know. I was disgusted by the whole situation."

Instead, you're given a salty trail mixed something that's seasoned very heavily. It just made me want to sneak water from the drink cart rather than curbing my hunger."

I don't think any of them were success. -none of the kiosks were working at phx. I thought we were in the 21st century. -seats do not recline. Seats are uncomfortable. Food tray is tiny. And I do mean tiny. No water or soda or anything without paying for it. That's a bit unrealistic for a cross country flight. -Fees! For food, drinks, stowed baggage, carry-on baggage (what?), choosing a seat assignment (and I do mean any seat assignment ) -Frontier will never see this because they do not deal with complaints. Ps-I wasn't able to respond via Twitter. I didn't know if my cell phone was an issue or if Frontier blocked twitter feedback."

My personal item (small backpack) was free. I had to pay extra for food / drink, too. Not a meal and an alcoholic beverage, I'm talking about peanuts and soda. Frontier will almost certainly figure out a way to charge us for the air we breathe during the flight. My "cheap" tickets turned out to be incredibly expensive. His suggestion was to have my sister drive my daughter an hour and a half to the airport to see if there "might" be a flight available through another airline. Frontier did not have any flights going to or near RDU that day.Since my daughter had to be in Raliegh that day I spent the next 10 hours in the car going to get her. I did receive a refund but only because I requested one,otherwise they just don't refund automatically."

When checking her in the night before and picking a seat in coach my sister had to pay a "fee" for her seat, so an additional fee of $57 dollars for one bag and a seat.... Really?"

They make you pay for luggage, improved seat size, location, food and then ask you to tip your cranky flight attendant whom they seem to screen and select the most misanthropic applicants they can find. And then they try to sell you their credit card with a $69 annual fee. I watched and there where no takers."

They definitely respect the passenger and provide excellent pricing. I traveled without bags or personal item. I understood exactly what I was doing. Going to Vegas for 24 hours for next to nothing."

However- with a only single Spirit representative person at at the counter helping all the others similarly affected- I waited about 2 hours in a very long line to have my flight rescheduled for 30 hours later. She was very professional. So, there was not enough staff to handle the problem and there were not enough planes or other flight options to handle the problem in a timely fashion. A 2 and 1/2 flight took me about 30 hours. Spirit works when it works... great for short flights, ususally! But it sure did not work for me this time and I will never fly Spirit if there is any time constraints or I can see any potential problems with getting to where I need to be in a timely and comfortable fashion."

Cons: "Could not check my bags anywhere except the gate, and it cost more than the flight did, they would not accept cash from me to check my bags until a man had a hissy fit. I wasn't allowed to actually check my heavy bag, was made to carry it on, which was over whelming and hurt my back, really annoying and stressful. Felt ignored because I was a woman. Felt annoyed that they gave me a hard time about paying them cash. No where on the website does it say credit cards only. Also the seats were small and did not recline. On my return trip they changed the gate 2 mins before boarding and I had to run to catch the flight. I would not recommend."

Pros: "The flight was comfortable and enjoyable. We were late taking off and yet we arrived very close to our scheduled time. Baggage claim was very easy and quick. Enjoyed the friendliness of the crew."

Cons: "I had a very difficult time printing our boarding passes. I wasted 1 hr in front of a hotel computer trying to print the passes. Our password was never accepted. Alway "no match." Tried the only two passwords we use to no avail. I also called and paid for our baggage the night before our flight with a customer service rep, Carla, and when we got to the airport, the kiosk showed that we had not paid."

Pros: "The greeter was pleasant."

Cons: "The customer service skills, or lack of thereof by the agents, and particularly of the manager, Davell. I could not check in at the kiosk and had to see an agent, which took 45 minutes due to the lack of organization to tend to the people. Because of this wait I miss my flight. Everyone around me was upset about something regarding the airline. However, even though I had missed my flight already, it was my birthday trip and I was not going to allow anything to ruin it. I figured I could just get on the next flight which was a couple of hours later ( in my head this was possible). When I finally got to an agent she informed me that the next flight was at 8:00pm. I was not willing to wait, but kindly asked if there was a manager I could speak to. As a person with more than 10 years of customer service, and always finding a way to help people, I was hoping to catch a break. I saw the manager whom with zero empathy told me to get in line. Stating that "she was the manager and there was a line of people who all needed to speak with her". I did not like her response, but complied and got in line. After Ms. Davell "helped" one person she proceeded to go to the back. I assumed to a break room or her office. At this point I started documenting the chain of events because, I wanted to share my concern with the airline. Ms. Davell came back and talked to a customer on the side, (whom had not been waiting in line for over 40 minutes for the second time) I attempted to get her attention by saying (nearly shouting)"ma'am", but she kept walking as if she hadn't heard me. It was then that I asked another agent for the name of the manager, but when she said it I could not understand it, so I asked "how do you spell it?". This agent said, "I don't know". So I replied, "you don't know how to spell your manager's name?" she responded "no". Then I asked her for her name. She said "Alicia". I thanked her and I added her name to my documentation. Minutes later, Manager Davell came out again to "help" someone on the opposite side of the counter. I could not just stand there and wait anymore. So, I walked towards her, and after she "helped" that person. I expressed her my case, and without any kind of empathy or even falsely pretending to care, she said there was nothing she could do. She said the next available flight was the next day. Keep in mind that all this time Ms. Davell is looking at me straight in the face without even a fake smile , and with one eyebrow as high as her hairline. I was extremely disappointed for just the lack of customer service and very calm expressed it to her. I stated that as a manager, she was leaving me a lot to wish for. I added that I could not believe she was a manager. Her response, "ok" with the elevated eyebrow and an "I don't care" face. I then went to Delta and bought a one way ticket to Fort Lauderdale. Everything was completely different, and I regreted not booking my flight with Delta to begin with."

Pros: "The crew was nice. . If you are traveling extremely light (just a backpack or purse), Spirit is a good deal, but......"

Cons: "Travelers have to pay for water on the flight. Why not also charge a few bucks to use the bathroom while you're at it? The $55 for a carry on bag should be made more clear up front. Once you add in the a la carte costs, flying on Sprit costs the same"

Cons: "On an Atlanta to Boston trip, they cancelled the flight an hour before takeoff, said we couldn't fly out until the next afternoon, and refused to help us rebook with another airline. I was able to rebook with Southwest at double the cost (and it wasn't even a direct flight). Spirit said the flight was cancelled due to weather but every other airline was still flying to Boston."

Cons: "They refused to put me on a flight that would get me to my destination the same day. I was on a 5:30 pm flight and there were literally dozens of available flights. I finally got a refund on the Spirit flight and paid an exorbitant amount of money to purchase a last minute flight on a good airline. Cons: "The overall flight was fine; however they lost my one bag. I arrived three plus hours early and only had the one flight. How do you lose a bag when there is plenty of time to process & ni flight changes? They called last night to say bag finally arrived & that they would deliver today. Just called & delivery person comes in around 11am and will call to coordinate. I can't just sit around all day waiting. That is why I rated Spirit Poor - for lack of customer service."
