How much brake fluid do I need BMW
How much fluid needed for a brake flush?

Hey Guys,

I'm going to flush out my brake fluid soon and need to know how many bottles of I'll need. Anyone who's flushed out their brake fluid know how many liters I'll need? I have 6MT as well so I'll need to bleed my clutch out as well.

Thanks!

Is that enough for both a full brake AND clutch flush?

It will be close if you do the clutch. If you are buying over the Internet, I'd buy 2l.

3L is a lot.

you need max 1.5L if youre doing both clutch and brakes.

for brakes only, 1L is enough.

3L can do three cars. 1L should be enough for brakes and maybe the clutch. Buy 2L and see how far you get. Also, avoid opening the second bottle unless you have to. DOT 4 or DOT 5 is highly hygroscopic (absorbs moisture), so shelf-life of the fluid, even in a closed container, is iffy...but you knew that.

How much brake fluid does a car need? The brake fluid must be filled at an optimal level while you are adding or flushing the brake fluid. Most modern cars require about 32 ounces or one quart of brake fluid.

How much brake fluid Do I need BMW 3 Series?

you need max 1.5L if youre doing both clutch and brakes. for brakes only, 1L is enough.

What brake fluid should I use for BMW?

Brake fluid for a BMW is either Normal or Low Viscosity and should be rated as either DOT4, DOT5, or DOT5. 1. Unless the car is driven on the track, Low Viscosity fluid is used on any BMW model with DSC (Dynamic Stability Control), which is almost all BMWs since 2003.

Is 1 liter brake fluid enough?

If the old brake fluid is particularly dirty or discoloured we recommend completely flushing out the old fluid and replacing with new. In which case you may need additional fluid and usually near 1 liter. A good rule of thumb is to have your brakes flushed about every 30,000 miles (48,280 kilometers) or so.
