How much does Tyron Woodley make for second fight?

Jake Paul's rematch with Tyron Woodley will be shown live on pay-per-view in the UK, though fans are outraged by the £20.99 price.

Paul and Woodley locked horns in a eight rounder that the former won via split decision back in August.

Paul, having moved to 4-0 in professional boxing, was then scheduled to face Tommy Fury on 18 December before the 22-year-old was forced to pull out due to a broken rib and bacterial chest infection.

Former UFC champion Woodley stepped up to take a second fight with Paul at short notice, however, ensuring the card in Tampa Bay, Florida still has a main event.

But fans are surprised that the fee given the same fight has already happened earlier this year.

The first fight, which had the younger Fury and Daniel Dubois on the undercard, was shown on BT Sport Box Office for £16.95.

There's been just short of a £4.00 increase this time around, with the bout now available live on FITE TV following BT's withdrawal as a result

Paul, after shaking hands with Woodley, then said he bought the gift "because it's time for me to knock him out" during a face-to-face segment for Showtime.

Jake Paul secured a lucrative payday from his fight purse after his stunning knockout win over Tyron Woodley in their rematch on Saturday.

Paul has now moved his professional boxing record to 5-0, having claimed wins over the likes of AnEsonGib, Nate Robinson and Ben Askren.

The fight purse for the first Paul vs Woodley clash was not officially revealed, but it’s believed the former UFC welterweight champ made a payday of £1.5m ($2m).

According to reports, the YouTuber-turned-boxer walked away from the first fight with ‘at least’ a hefty £3.77m ($5m).

The Manchester Evening News reports that both Paul and Woodley ‘expected to earn a similar amount’ to the $5m that the Problem Child pocketed the first time around.

Both of the fighters earned over £1m each for Saturday’s rematch, while Woodley could have received a £377,458 ($500,000) bonus if he had knocked out Paul.

“Everyone’s a target. No-one is safe,” Paul said.

“I don’t really know what’s next on the roadmap. I’ve done it all, I’ve accomplished what I wanted to accomplish.

“It’s scary to try and put a cap on where this could go. The potential is unlimited here.

“Maybe when the time is right I’ll go for the world championship belt. It would be funny to become world champion.

“I’d take the belt and throw it on the f*****g ground and stomp on it. You’re a champion in your heart before anyone tells you. I am a champion.”

Youtuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul continued his unbeaten streak against former UFC welterweight champion, Tyron Woodley on Saturday night at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida.

Paul knocked out Woodley in the sixth round to move 2-0 against the MMA veteran. Both fighters showed mutual respect and applauded each other’s skills.

Paul called Woodley “a warrior” for replacing Tommy Fury in the showdown on a two-week notice.
Tommy had withdrawn from the fight after developing an infection and suffering a ribs fracture during training camp.

To entice Woodley to step in on short notice, Paul had added a $500,000 knockout incentive to the contract for the ex-UFC champion. However, losing his second boxing bout to the same man who defeated him on debut, means he would not get anything extra.

Nonetheless, Woodley reportedly walked away with at least a $1 million guaranteed purse, excluding the pay-per-view sales.

In their first meeting, Paul pocketed around $5 million in total whereas Woodley got nearly $3 million. Woodley’s was near the $3 million mark. Considering the hype of their match, both boxers are likely to have received a similar payout.

Paul is already on the move to find his next opponent. He did not even shy away from calling out the No. 1 pound-for-pound boxer in the world.
