How much is a Stevens side by side shotgun worth?

The Stevens 315 is actually a pretty difficult vintage side-by-side shotgun for collectors to track down for purchase these days, with a vast range in price from $100 for unworking models, to around $500 for one in working order. In some cases restored guns and restocked can fetch as much as $1200 to $1400.

Are Stevens shotguns good?

Quality on this shotgun looks OK from a distance but is lacking closer up. The machining and finish work on the bolt working surfaces on mine were pretty bad and made for really rough pumping and hard shell extraction. The chambers on both barrels that came with my shotgun were causing very hard shell extraction.

Are Stevens shotguns still made?

Savage dropped the Stevens name in 1991, but revived it in 1999 and still uses it today for a number of its low cost rifles and shotguns. U.S.

When did Stevens stop making guns?

Stevens halted civilian production in 1942 to make weapons for use by the US military during World War II (see Model 520-30 below). Civilian Model 520A production resumed after World War II, again as store-branded guns, and continued until 1948.
