Athanasia de Alger Obelia is the main protagonist in Who Made Me a Princess, and the current Crown Princess of the Obelian Empire. After reading a romance fantasy novel named The Lovely Princess, the protagonist goes to sleep and finds herself reincarnated into the infant body of Athanasia,[5] a side character in the fictional novel who was executed by her father, Claude de Alger Obelia, for poisoning the beloved Princess Jennette Margarita.[6] In her new life, Athanasia is determined to avoid her fated execution and survive past the age of 18.[7] AppearanceAthanasia is depicted with long, wavy blonde hair usually tied back into a high ponytail, with soft bangs falling into her jewel-blue eyes, the trademark of the imperial family. Her appearance is often compared to that of her mother, Diana, and she is described by many characters to be exceedingly beautiful. Throughout the series, Athanasia wears a variety of different gowns made of fine materials, paired with ornate accessories befitting of a crown princess. PersonalityAs the Crown Princess of the Obelian Empire, Athanasia possesses proper savoir-faire and presents herself in a graceful, respectable manner. She values her relationships and is openly affectionate towards her loved ones. In a familiar environment, Athanasia becomes playful and teasing. Although she is perceived as kind and generous, Athanasia is aware of what happens in The Lovely Princess and persistently attempts to thwart any events that may endanger her life. Throughout the series, she remains vigilant and calculating, quickly acclimating to various environments to survive. Despite her naïve tendencies, Athanasia is extremely intelligent and shrewdly observant. She is capable of understanding a person's nature and adapting her behavior accordingly. Determined to alter her fate, she adopts an outgoing, sunny disposition to charm her father and avoid execution at his hands. MagicIn the new timeline, Athanasia developed the ability to wield magic. Due to her abundance of mana and innate affinity towards magic, she is capable of easily conjuring spells that would typically require years of practice,[8] such as disguise her appearance, render herself invisible, conjure gold and jewels, and teleportation. The nature of her magic is related to time, allowing her to transcend alternate timelines. Her power reversed Claude's body nine years into the past, returning him to the cold-hearted emperor who had no love or regard for his daughter. Her magic has also allowed Athanasia to transmigrate several times before the current timeline.[9] Lucas has speculated that her magic is strong enough to give her glimpses into post-mortem events.[10] Divine BeastAthanasia possesses an overwhelming amount of mana. As a result, part of her magic manifested into the form of a divine beast. Although it is the corporeal form of a black wolf,[11] Athanasia decided to adopt it as a pet and name it "Raven." Continued interaction with Raven eventually resulted in an explosion of mana, almost killing Athanasia at the age of nine.[12] Lucas advised her against spending too much time with Raven to avoid disrupting her mana any further.[13] At the age of 14, Athanasia was mysteriously triggered and accidentally reabsorbed Raven in another mana explosion.[14] Since then, Athanasia has been able to freely wield magic.[15] Plot OverviewMain article: Athanasia de Alger Obelia timelineQuotes
