There were a few things i accidently missed out of this video but I believe most of the really important stuff is covered. Though the only other thing id recommend doing after you make all these changes is going into your "APP Data" folder and deleting the contents of the "Temp" folder and then doing a disk clean up.

Temp folder can be located at: C:\Users\(Your Name)\AppData\Local\Temp.

Once deleted the contents, go to windows search bar and type in "Clean" and run a Disk-Clean Up.

All this combined with the video guide should help overall average frame rate and clean up stuttering, freeze frames, and in some cases and actually helped people with the 100% cpu usage bug.

Hope it helps.

1:10 One *HUGELY* important thing to mention about virtual memory is that, YOU NEED TO MAKE SURE YOU ACTUALLY HAVE THAT MUCH SPACE ON THE DRIVE! Actually, let's put few more exclamations there: !!!
If you don't have enough space, and SC actually would need that space, it'll crash to desktop. Had this happen to a friend of mine frequently, he'd play for like 5 minutes or so and then crash. Bit longer in space. Also, as for the size, it depends on your graphics settings as well as how much ram you got (even if it doesn't seem to get full).

As for the rest, you might wanna explain the rationale behind each setting. Especially when you're instructing people to mess with registry, everyone who messes with registry should know what they're doing and why.

Just a reminder that this video doesnt just apply to Star Citizen. Works in pretty much all games and can drastically reduce stuttering in titles like EscapeFromTarkov an many others where you're having issues.

Had a few people message me so, for anyone on windows 11 trying to find the "Hardware-Accelerated GPU scheduling" setting, it is a little harder to find. You should be able to find it by going to:

System > Display > Graphics > Change Default Graphics Settings > then Hardware-Accelerated GPU scheduling will be a toggle option in there.

Some applications in Windows require much more RAM than others. Unlike a word processing application, a lot more random access memory (RAM), otherwise known as operation memory, is required to run than a word processing application.

Windows 10 typically allocates RAM to every program in order to reduce their usage. Though this system is not for most games, some games can’t be difficult to use because of their speed. The best way to rectify that issue is by allocating more RAM to the game and improving its performance.

What does the RAM mean?

RAM is the operating memory that programs use for the programming. While storing information by means of continuous storage, a hard drive (HDD) or a solid-state drive (SD) is an unused computer program. The RAM keeps the game running when a user opens a game. This would be too slow if it had to run from the drive. After the game is closed, the RAM doesn’t store any permanent data and is allowed to get allocated to other programs.

The more RAM a computer has, the more processes it can run. Since PCs process tasks sequentially, having less RAM means that it has limited processing power and takes more time to complete each task. Having more RAM lets the computer handle more tasks faster. If you have an equal memory size, a processor often functions at different speeds. Taking into consideration the power of the motherboard, it’s best to maintain the highest frequency. There’s a little debate about whether or not the best way to have a higher volume of RAM or a higher volume of RAM with higher speeds. In a lot of cases, it is better to get more RAM but, in fact, is a little poor in the middle of the situation because it affects the type of CPU and motherboard capabilities.

How can you put the more RAM in Windows to do a game?

  • With Windows, the game is now having more RAM.

A game can sometimes feature more RAM after loading. On the other hand, if the PC has limited RAM, it can interfere with other program performance and cause crashes. If you experience any problems, it would be helpful to check your system and change the settings back to what they were.
