  1. In the Safari app

  2. Click Pop-up Windows on the left.

    If you don’t see Pop-up Windows, be sure to scroll to the bottom of the list.

  3. If there are websites listed below Configured Websites, and you want to change the settings for these sites (for example, they’re set to Allow, but you want to change them to Block), select each website, then click Remove.

    If you don’t see Configured Websites, either you haven’t set pop-up blocking for any sites yet, or you’ve cleared the list.

  4. Click the “When visiting other websites” pop-up menu, then choose one of the following:

    • Allow: Pop-ups for the websites appear.

    • Block and Notify: Pop-ups for the website don’t appear, but when you visit a website with blocked pop-ups, you can choose to show them by clicking the Show button

    • Block: Pop-ups for the websites don’t appear.

By default, Google Chrome blocks pop-ups from automatically showing up on your screen. When a pop-up is blocked, the address bar will be marked Pop-up blocked

Allow pop-ups for a specific site

Not all pop-ups are ads or spam. Some legitimate websites display web content in pop-up windows.

  3. At the bottom, under "Pop-ups blocked," tap Always show.

Fix issues with pop-ups

If you're on a page with a pop-up or dialog that won't go away, try these steps:

  1. Turn on your phone's airplane mode.
  2. Quit Google Chrome.

Is the pop-up blocker for Safari stopping pop-ups you actually need? You may need to enable pop-ups in your iPhone settings. Conversely, if you've been having trouble with pop-ups on your iPhone whenever you try to browse online, you're probably hoping for a way to block pop-ups on Safari. Luckily, your iPhone does have a way to disable pop-ups in Safari so that you don't have to deal with these annoying interruptions anymore, and if that's what you're looking for, feel free to skip directly to our directions on how to block pop-ups in Safari.

If you find that pop-ups you actually want are being blocked, you can allow pop-ups while you're using a particular website. You can simply turn off pop-up blocker on your iPhone while you browse that site and then switch it back on! To disable the pop-up blocker, follow these steps.
