Am I eligible for the Community tab?

Creators with over 500 subscribers have access to Community posts. It will take up to 2 weeks to see the Community tab after passing 500 subscribers. The Community tab may also be available to other channels as we continue testing this feature.

For the Community Tab to be available, you need to have 500 subscribers or enable access to advanced features on your channel. You can choose among three options to gain access: channel history, video verification, or a valid ID. Learn more here. It could take up to one week to see the community tab after reaching 500 subscribers, or up to 48 hours after gaining access to Advanced features.

If your channel’s audience is set as "Made for Kids," your Community tab will only be visible to you and not your viewers. You also can't create new posts, but will be able to view past posts. Learn more about setting your audience.

Note: This feature may not be available with supervised experiences on YouTube. Learn more here.

Where can I find my Community posts?

You can find your Community posts on your channel’s Community tab and under the Content section of YouTube Studio. To get to your posts in YouTube Studio:

  1. Sign in to YouTube Studio.
  2. From the left menu, select Content.
  3. Click the Posts tab.

If you have scheduled Community posts for a future publish date, they will be in YouTube Studio and in the “Scheduled” section of the Community tab. This section is only visible to you.

Note: Community posts that violate our Community Guidelines are not allowed on YouTube. If your post is found to violate our policies, it will be removed from all surfaces; including the Community tab.

Are my viewers notified when I post?

If viewers have selected to get notifications for channels they're subscribed to, they’ll occasionally get Community post notifications.

Viewers can opt out of post notifications by selecting "None" in the bell settings.

We may occasionally send post notifications to viewers who are not subscribed but who often watch videos from your channel. Learn more about viewer notification settings.

Why are comments turned off on my Community post?

Make sure that your channel’s default comment settings aren’t set to “Disable comments” by following these instructions. Since Community posts don’t have individual comment settings, comments may also be turned off when sharing a video.

Community posts that share videos reflect the comment settings of those videos. When you share a video in a post and the video’s comments are turned off, comments will also be turned off for your post. Comments may be turned off for a video because:

  • The video owner selected the setting to "Disable comments.”
  • YouTube may have turned off comments on some videos for safety reasons, like to protect minors. Learn more about this type of content.
  • The channel or video’s audience is set as "made for kids." Learn more about this type of content.
  • You or your system administrator have turned on Restricted Mode. Learn more about this setting.
  • Comments on automatically generated Art Tracks are turned off. Learn more about Art Tracks.

If you are the owner of the video you’re sharing, you can choose to turn on or turn off comments on a specific video in YouTube Studio. Learn how to choose your comment settings.
