History

Just like last year, as part of the 2021 Christmas update on December 9, 2021, Coeptus added the "Elf Hunt," which is a month long event omitted from the update log. Youtubers like "It's Akelia" and "AshleyTheUnicorn" have easy tutorials on how to find these elves.

December 9, 2021 - First elf is located in the Observatory's parking lot.

December 10, 2021 - Second elf is located under a tree behind the Observatory.

December 11, 2021 - Third elf is located at the 1st level of the Bloxburg Mountain on the right side.

December 12, 2021 - Fourth elf is located on the right side of the fishing hut.

December 13, 2021 - Fifth elf is located on the left side of Fancy Furniture. (Needs a Regular Cookie)

December 14, 2021 - Sixth elf is in the Bloxburg Cave. Found in the far edge of the mining area next to a wooden pole. (Need to use a vehicle such as a moped or bike and give the cookie while on the vehicle.)

December 15, 2021 - Seventh Elf is on the Bloxy Burger billboard, located on the highway.

December 16, 2021- Eighth Elf is found inside of the Gazblox Gas Station on the highway. (Needs a Gingerbread Cookie)

December 17, 2021 - Ninth Elf is found by the Riverside tunnel.

December 18, 2021 - Tenth Elf is found along the mountains on the Bloxy Acres side.

December 19, 2021 - Eleventh Elf is found in the water by the mountain at the very end of the beach on the Bloxy Acres side. (Needs a Regular Cookie)

December 20, 2021 - Twelfth Elf is found behind a tree next, close to where the mountain curves near the event area. (Needs a glass of milk) Watching BramP's video will help you identify which tree the elf is hidden by.

December 21, 2021 - Thirteenth Elf is located on the second level of the mountain, near the edge that faces the observatory.

December 22, 2021 - Fourteenth Elf is found on top of the BFF supermarket sign. (Requires a Gingerbread Cookie) It can be accessed by paragliding onto the sign or parkouring onto the roof.

December 23, 2021 - Fifteenth Elf is found on the roof of the Lovely Lumber. The elf requires a Gingerbread Latte which can be bought from the Sledding Hut or the appliance ExpressBrew 800.

December 24, 2021 - Sixteenth Elf is found at Santa Photo-Op. The elf requires a full plate of Holiday Cookies.

Just like last Elf Hunt, there will be no more elves after the sixteenth.

Trivia

Each elf appears to only be possible to find at or after 4:00 PM PST (7:00 PM EST) on its release day.
The entire event takes after the Elf on a Shelf lore, in which an elf is placed on a shelf and then hidden each night, only to be found by the household children in a new spot the next day. In the lore, the elf is said to be moving as to report back to Santa on the kids' behavior. This has led to fan theories speculating the event's conclusion may be a present of some kind, as feeding the elves may be "bribing" them to report good things back to Santa.
When plotting out the elf's movement every night, you can see the elf is making its way closer and closer to the Santa Photo-Op.
This is the second major interactive event in Welcome to Bloxburg.
You must be Level 3 in cooking to bake Holiday Cookies and Regular Cookies.
You must be Level 4 in cooking to bake Gingerbread Cookies.
The prize amount given by the elves depends on how late you find them. If you find an elf within the first 24 hours of it moving, you are given $2,500. If you find an elf after it moves, you are given $1,000.
The total amount to be given by the elves ranges from $15,000 to $37,500, depending on when you find them. Once you get to the final elf, you get a special reward.
Most of the elves take Holiday Cookies but the 5th, 8th and 11th elves take Cookies and Gingerbread Cookies.
It is the first elf hunt in which you need to give an elf an item other than a cookie.
The developer has added a ladder behind the BFF Supermarket's sign in version 0.10.2e to allow players to access the top of the sign.

How do you start the Bloxburg Elf Hunt?

The Elf Hunt can be initiated with the first elf, which can be found in the Observatory's parking lot, where the Miniature Coeptus is found. The event is started by feeding this elf a Holiday Cookie. Once fed, he will give you an amount of money ranging from $1,000 to $2,500 Money.
