How do I get a certified copy of my name change in California?Once your petition is granted, you may obtain a certified copy of Decree of Name Change (NC-130) or Decree of Gender Change (NC-230) from theCivil Business Office for a fee.
Can you change your name on your birth certificate in California?California Birth Certificate
To change your name and gender, or gender only, you will need to fill out form VS-24 (for name change only, the form is VS-23). The form can be obtained by calling VR at 916. 557.6073 or 916.445. 2684.
How long does it take to replace a birth certificate in California?CDPH-VR's average time to process an amendment request is seventeen (17) to nineteen (19) weeks from the date the request is received.
When you change your name by deed poll do you get a new birth certificate?For most purposes a deed poll will be accepted to change documents, but there are some important exceptions. Birth and marriage certificates cannot be changed.
