How to put on armor in GTA 5 online

GTA Online has undergone lots of changes with the release of the new The Criminal Enterprises update.

It has added many new features that aim to improve players' gameplay experience, including increased payouts throughout the game. One such feature is the easy accessibility to quickly equip or replenish body armor whenever required.

Users can now refill their armor bars without interrupting the gameplay.

Is it only going above all my clothes because I'm wearing an outfit? I remember I used to use the black armor under a suit jacket all the time, kinda liked the way it looked

Yep. Equip the armour, go into the Interaction Menu, into your Inventory, and press X over the armour you want to wear (or over None if you don't want to show it).

i figured out the problem: the high life suits are all worn under armor, while the other suits wear it under the jacket

I dont get it. I buy armor at the ammo store, walk outside and equip it in my inventory and it doesnt show up on me. Then i die instantly in any fight. Starting missions i buy armor for $100, not wearing it when the mission starts. Die instantly. Is there some weird rule to equipping armor im missing here?

i thought you wear it under your clothes, so maybe you just can't see it very well unless looking carefully from the front ? is your blue bar showing up filled ?

Ive even put my character in a bikini and not seen it. If i have it in my inventory does it mean i definitely have it, or do i have to rebuy it or some nonsense?

if the blue bar next to the green health bar is full, then you are wearing armor. if it is faded/empty, then you are naked as your bikini. that had BETTER be a female mc. :P

I want to agree with you but then we'd BOTH be wrong...

as long as you equip it from your inventory you should be good to go. the blue bar should show up filled too. i do know that even if it's a tiny bit damaged, you can buy armor before a mission. if it's completely full, that option won't be available

Just because it's visually on them, as in the clothing, doesn't mean you have armor fitted. The blue bar being filled is what's actually important. You can actually remove it in the quick menu and still keep the actual benefits of having armor.
