Access Zelle®

Find Zelle® in the mobile banking app of our partners. If you already have your banking app on your phone, there's no download necessary. If your bank or credit union doesn't offer Zelle® yet, just download the Zelle® app to get started.

STEP 2

Pick someone (you trust) to pay.

Once you’re enrolled with Zelle®, all you need is an email address or U.S. mobile phone number to send money to friends and family straight from your banking app.1 From your kid’s babysitter to your college bestie, Zelle® can be used to send money to almost anyone you know and trust with a bank account in the U.S.1

STEP 3

Choose the amount to send.

Enter the amount you want to send. If your recipient is already enrolled with Zelle®, the money will go directly into their bank account, typically in minutes1. If they aren’t enrolled yet, they will get a notification explaining how to receive the money simply and quickly.

Zelle® is in more than 1,000 banking apps, and probably yours! So, whether you’re paying the babysitter to watch the kids on date night or paying back your buddies for some takeout, sending money with Zelle® means never having to download another app.

Zelle® works between U.S.-based banks. Which means, even if you bank somewhere different than your friends and family do,1 you can still use Zelle® to safely send and receive money straight from your banking app.

When you send money to friends or family, it won’t cost you any extra money for the transaction.1 Which is good, because there are way better things to spend money on, like houseplants…or babysitters.

You can send, request, or receive money with Zelle®. After you’ve enrolled, simply add your recipient’s email address or U.S. mobile number, the amount you’d like to send or request, review and add a memo, and hit “confirm.” In most cases, the money is typically available in minutes1. To receive money, just share your enrolled email address or mobile number with a friend or person you trust and ask them to send you money with Zelle®.

Enroll your mobile number and Visa® or Mastercard® debit card so you can start sending and receiving money.

Look up friends from your contacts.

You can send or request money from your friends right out of the contacts in your smartphone.

STEP 2

Enter the amount you want to send.

After you hit "Review," you’ll have a chance to confirm the amount you’re sending and enter in a clever memo to your friend.

Your money is sent!

The recipient gets a notification and you get a record of the transaction.

How do recipients receive money from Zelle?

If you sent funds to their mobile phone number, they'll get a text message. If you sent funds to their email address, they'll get an email. To ensure the transaction goes as smooth as possible, we recommend you share with your recipient which item you sent funds to (phone or email).

Can I use Zelle with any bank?

Important: While you can typically use Zelle® with people at different banks, at least one person must have a bank in the Zelle Network in order to send and receive money.
