Show Interactive Piano Sheet MusicBy downloading Playground Sessions (FREE), and connecting your keyboard, you will be able to practice The Imperial March from "Star Wars" by John Williams, section by section. With Playground, you are able to identify which finger you should be using, as well as an onscreen keyboard that will help you identify the correct keys to play. You can also slow the tempo way down, which is great for learning a new song. At the end of each practice session, you will be shown your accuracy score and the app will record this, so you can monitor your progress over time. Musecore took down my score of 'The Imperial March – arr. Patrik Pietschmann - Piano'. I don't think it is interferes with anyones rights. I do not know why it was taken down. This is very frustrating😑☹ AttachmentSizeCopyright capture Musescore.PNG58.75 KB
CommentsThe reason is very clearly stated there. It might be wrong, if so, counter it. Reply Actually I can see this: https://musescore.com/user/46906730/scores/8172516 And sure enough it is a copyright violation, exactly as described in your screenshot. Reply In reply to by Jojo-Schmitz The score you saw was not the original score(original score - https://musescore.com/user/46906730/scores/8158563). I just reuploaded another one. What does the score violate though? And how can I 'remove/complain about' the copyright thing on musecore.com? Reply In reply to by Treble Sheets The song is John Williams', just like the copyright notice tells you. Reply In reply to by Treble Sheets Reuploading it in the knowledge (which you clearly have, as you have been told about it!) that it is a copyright violation, is violating the terms of use of that website! Reply In reply to by Jojo-Schmitz I reuploaded it because I thought that the person who had given me the copyright just did not see the whole thing. I did not know what I was violating any rules (I published lots of other scores by Patrik but did not have any copyright problems). Is there a way though that I keep the score public on musecore without violating any copyright rules? Reply In reply to by Treble Sheets It's important to realize that this is not musescore.com - for questions about the inner workings of that other site, you'd have to ask over there. No one here really has any special insight into that other site. But no special insight is needed to understand the very basics of copyright law. The law says you cannot publish a work you do not own the rights to. musescore.com allows you to upload music whether you have the rights or not, but if you don't have the rights, and the copyright holder identifies your score as infringing on their rights, then musescore.com is legally obligated to take your score down, and they will. There is no penalty to you unless you try to willfully get around this. If a piece is copyright and has been taken down, don't try to re-upload it to get around the law - that will make you personally liable for willful infringement, which carries substantial legal penalties. |
