“It has always been our goal to return to Las Vegas,” said Jimmy Lawhorn, vice president of sales and marketing for Blue Bell. “We plan to make our arrival just as the temperatures start rising.”

Blue Bell is in the process of building a 14,000 sq. ft. distribution facility located in Henderson, Nev. The company will also begin hiring for several positions including driver salesperson, office manager, office clerks, shipping clerks and merchandisers.

“We will be servicing stores located in Clark and Nye counties,” Lawhorn said. “Many residents are already familiar with Blue Bell, but we hope to reach even more new consumers with our return.”

No store locations have been released at this time, but ice cream fans can expect to find Blue Bell at most major supermarkets and drug stores when it returns to the area.

Blue Bell Ice Cream is headquartered in Brenham, Texas, and all products are made at its three manufacturing facilities located in Texas, Oklahoma and Alabama. The 114-year-old company has quite a fanbase despite its products being sold in only 22 states. Nevada will become the 23rd state with the addition of Las Vegas next year.

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - After leaving the market for several years, fans of Blue Bell Ice Cream in Las Vegas can again satisfy their craving for the sweet treat.

According to the company, starting Monday, March 28, stores in the Las Vegas Valley will get their first shipment of Blue Bell Ice Cream.

“We are excited to bring our ice cream to the Las Vegas area,” said Las Vegas Branch Manager Randy Murley. “We have been here for the past few months preparing for the opening, and everyone has been so welcoming.”

As part of the festivities, Blue Bell says a ribbon cutting will be held Wednesday at the company’s new branch distribution facility in Henderson. Located at 51 Conestoga Way, the public is welcome to attend the event from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. for a tour of the 14,000 sq. ft. distribution facility and free ice cream samples.

Headquartered in Brenham, Texas, the 114-year-old company says that Nevada will mark the 23rd state in which its products are sold.

What better way to enjoy the warmer weather than with a scoop of ice cream .

Blue Bell Creameries products will be returning to stores on March 28.

A ribbon cutting will be at 10 a.m. March 30 at the company’s new branch distribution facility, 51 Conestoga Way in Henderson.

The event is open to the public, which includes a tour of the 14,000-square-foot facility, and free ice cream samples will be available.

“We are excited to bring our ice cream to the Las Vegas area,” Las Vegas branch manager Randy Murley said. “We have been here for the past few months preparing for the grand opening, and everyone has been so welcoming.”

The company will host several sampling events in March and April at Las Vegas and Henderson grocery stores.

“We do not produce any products at this facility, but we do have a cold storage that houses all of the delicious ice cream that will be delivered to local stores very soon,” Murley said.

Ice cream fans should get their spoons out because Blue Bell Creameries is returning to the Las Vegas area.

Trucks began rolling out the first shipments to local grocery stores early Monday morning. The Brenham, Texas-based brand previously operated in Las Vegas from 2014 to 2015, but left the area due to a recall, Executive Director of Marketing Joe Robertson said.

The company spent the last several years rebuilding its resources in the valley, including a land purchase in Henderson to build a 15,000-square-foot distribution center, now at 51 Conestoga Way.

“From start to finish, we buy the freshest ingredients,” Robertson said. “From the moment we buy raw ingredients until the product hits the shelf, no one touches the product except for Blue Bell employees. We take that extra care and we know that ice cream is very sensitive to heat, so we know that affects taste.”

All Blue Bell products — about 40 flavors of ice cream — are made at three manufacturing facilities in Texas, Oklahoma and Alabama.

Its Henderson facility is a distribution center with cold space storage, warehouse space and office space, Robertson said. About 25 to 30 people were hired, mostly full-time positions, to run sales and shipping operations.

Blue Bell will host a ribbon cutting ceremony for its Henderson facility at 10 a.m. Wednesday, and it’s open to the public. Tours of the facility, including free ice cream samples, will be available between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m., the company said.

Blue Bell half-gallons, pints and frozen snacks are available in 23 states including Nevada. Cities receiving Blue Bell include Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Boulder City, Henderson, Mesquite and Pahrump.

Why did Blue Bell stop selling in Las Vegas?

Blue Bell was briefly available on store shelves in Las Vegas, but the company left the market amid a wider listeria outbreak in other states in 2015. The brand's ice cream comes in dozens of flavors, ranging from French vanilla and mint chocolate chip to seasonal varieties like banana pudding and coconut cream pie.

Is Blue Bell available in all states?

Although Blue Bell is only available in a portion of the nation's supermarkets, it ranks as one of the best-selling ice creams in the country. Our products are sold in 23 states. No matter how much the market grows, quality standards never change and are never compromised.

Is Blue Bell a southern thing?

For starters, Blue Bell is a Southern company through and through. First opened in Brenham, Texas, as the Brenham Creamery Company, our favorite ice cream brand changed its name to Blue Bell Creameries in 1930 as a nod to the Lone Star State's much-loved bluebell wildflower.
