Best horror movie EVER seriously

Yeah it’s pretty scary but it has an amazing story for a horror movie this is a must watch movie there is tons of f bombs and s words and there is a scene where a bathroom floor, walls, and ceiling are covered in dark red blood pennywise bites a kids arm off and later in the movie you see blood from the half that wasn’t bitten off also Richie says somethings about private parts but there is messages of encouragement friendship teamwork, and helping people who need it and there is a tough girl who won’t let boys disrespect girls overall I think 13+ is a good age for this have a GREAT day

It is an AMAZING starter horror movie

It haves some jump scares and a bit of gore. The movie has just the right amount of scary elements to ease you into horror movies. The language is a little bad, there are some inappropriate jokes, and there is some types of abuse in the movie, but if your kid is mature enough they should be able to handle it.

It was a really fun movie! It's definitely not a family movie but it's a good movie if you like scary/ funny stuff. There are at least 60 f words so if you don't like that then don't watch this.

Not too graphic, but profanity is an issue

* *SOME SPOILERS* * “It” first came out when I was 9, and obviously it (lol no pun intended) was too much back then, but now that I’m 14 I finally watched it and it was pretty good. Before I watched this movie, I saw Common Sense Media’s age rating at 15+ and I was like how is this appropriate for a 15 year old? This is rated R, I had heard of this being graphic and terrifying, I had heard of the scene where Pennywise bites Georgie’s arm off, I had seen the gruesome and disturbing animatronics based off the movie, and IMDB has both “Violence and Gore” and “Profanity” listed at “Severe” for it as well. Now that I’ve finally seen it, I can totally see why Common Sense put this at 15+ it’s definitely fine for a 15 year old, unless they are sensitive, and I would even say it’s fine for a 14 year old. I am a mature 14 year old but the average 14 year old should be fine with it as well. Maybe 13+ if they are mature. I don’t know why people are saying this is super graphic and gory. I went in expecting it to be, but it actually wasn’t. I know this sounds crazy, but there are actually only a couple of gory parts in it, mainly the scene where Pennywise bites Georgie’s arm off, which is arguably one of the most infamous scenes in modern horror cinema. We don’t actually see Pennywise bite Georgie’s arm off, we just see his teeth touch his arm, then the scene cuts for a moment, and then it cuts back to it with Georgie armless and bleeding a lot, with blood in the water because it’s raining, while he is trying to get away. This scene isn’t overly graphic but is shocking and a bit disturbing. And the other gory part is where we see Pennywise covered in blood waving to a kid using a severed arm (not Georgie’s) and that’s pretty much it. There’s another violent but not gory scene where Pennywise gives the same kid he waved to an hallucination of when his parents burnt alive in a fire, but they’re behind a door, and only their hands are visible. Beverly’s father is abusive but nothing graphic is shown. Pennywise also gives kids hallucinations with lots of blood, but it’s not real blood, again it’s just hallucinations. The other thing I’m confused about is that Common Sense and a large number of people are saying that this movie is terrifying. Yes, it is pretty scary in some parts, but it’s definitely not terrifying. Maybe it’s because I went in with my scare factor expectations too high, I don’t know, but seriously, I’ve seen several PG-13 horror movies that I thought were scarier than this. Now, I have said that gore isn’t a huge issue in this film, but language is. I’m surprised more people aren’t talking about the profanity in this movie, as it’s definitely the biggest issue here. There are (seriously no exaggeration) about 60 F-bombs in this movie, including one use of motherf****r, all said by kids. It’s frustrating, because this movie could have gotten the PG-13 rating and appealed to a larger audience if it weren’t for all the F-bombs. And there’s no sexual content except for a couple lines said by Richie where he asks if all the pills in his friend’s cabinet are birth control pills, and he also asks if only virgins are seeing Pennywise. It seems that the makers of this movie intentionally limited the violence and gore, but they went all out with the profanity which is weird. Now, like I said, this movie isn’t that bad for teens, but I strongly disagree with people saying that this is ok for like 9-11 year olds. Yes, it isn’t over-the-top gory, but the scene with Pennywise and Georgie is, just as I said, shocking and a bit disturbing. And also just as I said, the language is SUPER bad. This film isn’t for anyone under 13. Overall, “It” is definitely a good movie, it does have some scary scenes and it has the messages of friendship and sticking together.

Super good but if you have anxiety or get scared easily do not watch alone

I really liked this movie! I watched it with my 10 year old brother and my mom. My brother doesn’t get scared easily and he wasn’t scared of this movie. Now me who is almost 3 years older than him has anxienty and got scared. After I watched it I told my brother and mom “that wasn’t as scary as I thought” but then I had nightmares that night. So just be advised that if you get scared easily like me about not just the clown but about the bullying and stuff that goes on in the movie than maybe don’t watch it. But honestly I loved the story and it got less scary as it went on. There is a lot of swearing and smoking but nothing to bad or inappropriate. I watched this a few months ago and I still am to scared to watch chapter 2.

Great, graphic and scary horror movie

This movie was amazing. It Chapter One has a great story, and has great graphics. There is a ton of suspense in it, and the role of Pennywise was played incredibly well. The teens too did an amazing job at acting. There are a few side notes though, like the film being incredibly graphic and bloody. The visuals are really scary, like there being zombies and the horror characters having big and lots of teeth. Also, there is a lot sex-related talk. A girl 'did it' with someone, a common subject between the bullies, and there are several sayings like a teen shouting at a bully to do stuff with his dad. There is also a huge amount of language, like f--k and b--ch being said like a hundred times, and teens shouting with sexual slurs too. Overall a great movie, 5 stars!

One of my favorite movies

It’s a really good movie and it’s not bad except for the foul language and the amount of violence. If you can stomach blood and some gruesome scenes you should be fine.

Best horror movie for teens and adults!

This is my absolute favorite horror movie. It is made very well, wonderful affects, great acting, and a fabulous plot. Violent, scary, and pretty gory. This movie does include jumpscares, and will have you on the edge of your seat- or hiding in a blanket. If you let someone under 14 watch it, please make sure they are mature enough because it could give them nightmares or a phobia of clowns. Even if you have very brave 10 and 11 year olds, I say 12 plus because of excessive cursing. A words, S words, B words, and F words. It also includes intense bullying, child abuse, alcohol, and several humorous sex mentions. But, all of this goes with the movie well and makes it feel very real. Excellent movie, highly recommend.

Besides language and violence I would say that it isn’t as scary as the the movie is made out to be. I was really nervous about watching it since it’s rated r but honestly I kinda feel let down. I’m 14 and would say that most people my age would be fine watching this.
