Thanks to the React-foam midsole, the shoe provided an incredibly soft and light sensation - an opinion also shared by my colleague, Jesper, who tested the shoe when it was launched in 2020. However, he also pointed out (just like many other runners) that the shoe needed a couple of improvements in order for it to become his favorite high-mileage training shoe. And it would seem as if Nike have really paid attention!  The midsole and the outsole is the same in Nike React Infinity Run Flyknit 2I have now tested Nike React Infinity Run Flyknit 2 – and wauw, I am very excited about it! It only took three runs to win me over. They have kept the best features from the first version and improved the issues that were critisized. In the first version, there was e.g. great hype about the fact that the combination of a midsole with a wider base, ”the Rocker”-geometry, Guide Rails and the amount of foam would take part in reducing the risk of injuries. Of course many factors are involved when injries are discussed. Nevertheless, the midsole and outsole in the second version is exactly the same as in the first -. Fortunately! The React-foam in the midsole makes React Infinity one of the absolute softest and most comfortable high-mileage training shoes, I have ever tested. The React-foam and the tilt-shaped ”rocker” structure provides exactly what I am looking for in this type of running shoe; an increadibky comfortable and easy gait, an enormous comfort and optimal responsiveness. It simply feels easy to go for a long run. Nike React Infinity 2 - A supportive running shoeIn the midsole you will also find Nikes Guide Rail-technology which on paper indicates that this shoe is designed for light to moderate pronation runners. BUT! I just want to make it clear this shoe definitely also can be used by neutral runners. Just like myself. Guide Rail is the feature which adds stability to the shoe but contrary to a shoe like Nike Zoom Structure, you won´t find a wedge on the inside of React Infinity 2. I did notice some arch support but shortly after my start, I forgot all about it. Updates from Nike React Infinity Run FlyknitMost of the criticism on React Infinity 1 was related to the fact that runners felt that the shoe was very loose and didn´t close very well around the foot. The heel was too flexible and a number of runners developed blisters while it was difficult to lace up the shoe properly. Those things have been improved now. The heel cap has been reinforced with additional padding which is very evident. The shoe wraps itself tightly around my foot and there is now no problems in terms of friction. And with the new Flywire-technology seen below, the upper has also become thicker, more robust and stable across the midfoot compared to the previous version. Nike React Infinity 2 - a serious high-mileage training shoeSo, in total it is certainly a serious contender for a daily training for neutral to light-pronation runners after Infinity Run Flyknit 2 fixed its biggest flaws It now has the comfortable, padded upper which you would expect from a running shoe for daily training. A soft, padded midsole for long-distance-cruising and a smooth gait which makes running easy. Nike React Infinity Run Flyknit 2 is a shoe which simply must be tested in order for you to understand the reasons for my excitement!
