9+

I watched this when I was 9. I watch lots of horror movies with dad, and he seemed to really like this one. A bully gets a tool stuck through him but no blood is shown, a person gets dragged under a bed by eating a monster's toe that was in a stew, and a kid gets sucked in to this pale lady's stomach. Also a zombie comes down from out of a chimney and all his body parts are on the floor, he puts himself back together and kills a police officer. There is lots of language containing sh*t and damn and also a kid has a pen with a women on it and talks about the women being In love with him. Spiders also crawl out of a teenager's face. I definitely recommend for your 8 or 9 and up child to watch.

This movie was good!

I’m 12 years old and This was my first horror movie and let me say, it wasn’t that bad. For a kid who gets scared easily and worries, this movie was actually okay, it had a few jump scares but they only made me flinch. There was some language, but not anything above and beyond. SPOILERS BEYOND THIS POINT, PARENTS THIS IS A GOOD PART FOR YOU TO READ TO INSURE THIS MOVIES OKAY FOR YOUR KID(S): In the beginning it’s halloween night and the characters go to a haunted house nothing super scary happens there, a small jump-scare occurs. I believe there are 6 stories, correct me if I’m wrong. The first one being in a cornfield, it starts by a character going to collect eggs late at night, on the way he passes the creepy scarecrow, there are bugs crawling out of the scarecrows mouth and eyes, the character passes the scarecrow and keeps walking. Another scarecrow looking the same, then appears, this happens a couple more times, eventually the character walks past an empty pole with no scarecrow on it, the scarecrow came to life and then stabs the character with a pitchfork in the stomach, it goes through to the other side, not much blood is shown, as the character tries running back home he throws up hay, and turns into a scarecrow. The second event happens when another character is eating dinner and finds a toe in the food, it goes in his mouth but he pulls it out soon after, the toe isn’t very bloody, a voice saying “where’s my toe” is heard, and it gets louder and louder, the character then runs to his room and hides under his bed, hiding from the monster who’s toe is missing, the character soon comes out from under and the monster comes out from nowhere and pulls him under the bed, he uses his nails to try to not get pulled into the wall, no blood, he gets pulled into the wall with the monster and disappears, The monster is not very scary, you can tell it’s computer work and isn’t very realistic looking. The 3rd story starts with a character getting a spider bight on her cheek, on her performing day for the play it swells very badly, she rushes to the bathroom and sees a spider leg poking out of it, from the inside, the spider bight pops and a bunch of little spiders come out, and I mean a bunch, she gets bit again by those spiders and gets sent to the hospital, no blood, and I’m honestly not sure if she survived or not. The 4th story is the scariest out of them all in my opinion, a character gets lost in a hospital, then making his way to the “R.E.D room” which is mentioned beforehand, the lights turn red and sirens go off, the character sees a pale fat lady with long black hair in the distance, who was not as scary as I thought, walking towards him, he turns around to see another pale fat lady, and eventually he is surrounded by the ladys everywhere he looks. Once one approaches the lady hugs him with a creepy smile on her face and the character gets pulled into the lady. The character disappears. That event was Not super scary but was quite intense. The forth story was not scary at all to me, a character gets chased by a zombie goblin type thing who's limbs are apart in the begging, the monster is kinda bloody but it’s CGI and the monster was not realistic. The monster gets smashed in between a car and a semi. The chase goes on as the 5th story happens. In the 5th story a character gets mistaken for Sarah, the one writing the stories, Sarah is a ghost. I didn’t quite understand the 5th story but the character goes back to the haunted house and returns the book where the stories are being written, and the haunted house gets flashed back to the past with the character in it, the character hides under a table from someone and that someone finds her and pulls her into a mirror or wall thinking she’s Sarah, the character from the 5th and 6th story both survive. Overall this was a good movie and I think a good one for your kids first horror film.

Not very good

I don’t watch scary movies. Actually this was my first one and I can safely say that this isn’t at all scary. It goes a bit to hard on the gory stuff and it get predictable at a certain point. The visuals are good, and the acting wasn’t that bad. But writing isn’t as good as people here think it is. Some of the actions don’t make any sense in the context of the story, they try to make you think it wasn’t the protagonists fault even tho it is, and the stories are a bit stupid, but that’s just me. The characters are fun to watch though .

Great show, but is pretty scary

Really good movie, way too scary for nine year olds. Non-sensitive ten year olds might be able to handle it. The whole movie is really dark. Pretty scary scene when Tommy turns into scarecrow, and it also shows all of the main characters in a state of terror at some point in the movie (i.e screaming, crying, and yelling for help). Scariest scene is definitely ME TIE DOUGH Tee WALKER. In this scene a zombie like creature falls down a chimney, kills a police officer, and then tries to force it's way into a cell (main characters are in the cell) and yells "Coward" at a boy inside. That starts a very intense scene of a boy hiding in a haunted house with the creature looking at him. Lots of jumpscares, so you should probably keep it to non-sensitive ten year olds or 11 year olds. Overall I'd say a great way to get started with horror movies.

Very good and only a little scary

It was a little scary when I watched it the first time but only in one part. If you like scary movies that are good for olde than 11 year olds then watch this.
