How to Level Up the Arbalest Catalyst

Just like most catalyst level up requirements, you need to eliminate a set number of enemies to unlock the Arbalest Catalyst's full potential. This one requires you to kill 500 enemies, and you have to use the Arbalest to do it.

There's no location or activity requirement, though, so you're free to do this wherever you like. Obviously, activities with plenty of enemies are ideal, but if you want to do things more efficiently, take the Arbalest into Dares of Eternity. You'll get Treasure Keys and Strange Coins, along with progress toward unlocking the Catalyst.

Arbalest Catalyst Effects

Like most master-worked weapons, once you've managed to level up this catalyst, you'll be generating orbs, which help charge your supers.

It also makes your weapon handle better and increases the magazine capacity. Finally, it has the Genesis and Disruption Break perks.

The former fills your magazines from the reserves once you break a shield with the Arbalest. The latter makes your enemies susceptible to kinetic damage for a short period of time once you've broken their shields with the Arbalest.

Arbalest is a powerful Exotic Linear Fusion Rifle in Destiny 2 that is a must-have for all Guardians. This weapon sits in the Kinetic slot and has fantastic accuracy. Linear Fusion Rifles can deal tremendous damage to single targets from a safe distance. Arbalest excels in end-game content because it naturally has Anit-Barrier capabilities. This makes the weapon recommended for Guardians doing any activity with Barrier Champions. Those looking to acquire this easy-to-use and helpful Linear Fusion Rifle will need to search for Exotic Engrams.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Originally, Arbalest was obtained by doing a series of objectives during The Revelry Event. This activity was added during the Forsaken expansion in 2019. Guardians were able to purchase the Exotic with event currency, after completing a series of challenges in Destiny 2. Since Arbalest is a Kinetic weapon, players can also use a Heavy Linear Fusion Rifle for easier access to ammo. Equipping an Ammo Finder mod for the weapon type will make it much more likely for ammo bricks to drop. A Linear Fusion Rifle Reserve mod will expand the carrying capacity of ammo. A Scavenger mod will grant bonus reserves when picking up an ammo brick.

Arbalest comes with this set of Perks: Extended Barrel, Projection Fuse, Disruption Break, and Composite Stock. Extended Barrel increases range and moderately controls recoil but decreases handling speed. This is offset by Composite Stock, which slightly increases both handling speed and stability. Projection Fuse improves the range further to a total range stat of 56. Disruption Break makes breaking shields with the Arbalest temporarily debuff the enemy, increasing all Kinetic damage taken. The Intrinsic Trait is called Compounding Force, which causes the weapon to fire slugs that deal massive damage to shields. This makes Arbalest effective against all shield types and a go-to choice for Legend Lost Sectors in Destiny 2.

How To Get The Arbalest (& Catalyst)

Destiny 2 Arbalest Perks Intrinsic Traits

Arbalest is a world drop in Destiny 2, meaning Guardians can acquire the weapon in a multitude of ways. Exotic Engrams can drop from defeating any enemy in the game, but there are certain activities that will raise the odds. Legend and Master Vanguard Nightfall Strikes have a common chance to drop Exotic Engrams. For a more guaranteed way of getting Arbalest, Guardians can purchase these Engrams from Xur each weekend. They will prioritize gear that players do not currently own. Occasionally, Xur may offer the weapon to be purchased for Legendary Shards. After acquiring Arbalest, Guardians will want to find and unlock the Exotic Catalyst. This drops randomly from completing any playlist activity, meaning Strikes, Crucible, and Gambit in Destiny 2. The Catalyst gives improved handling, increases the magazine size by one, and grants Genesis. This Perk makes breaking a combatant's shield with the weapon fill the magazine from reserves.

Arbalest is one of the most useful Exotics to have in Destiny 2. The Linear Fusion Rifle can handle any elemental shield and take out Anti-Barrier Champions. Additionally, Arbalest is a Kinetic weapon, allowing Guardians to quickly switch to a strong Heavy weapon, like a Rocket Launcher, after a shield is destroyed. The Linear Fusion Rifle also benefits from the damage increase of Disruption Break. The versatility of this Exotic is why every Guardian should have Arbalest in their collection in Destiny 2.

Do I need Arbalest equipped to get catalyst?

It's not that easy to get this weapon easily as it requires you to spend some amount of time grinding the playlist activities. Before trying to obtain the Catalyst make sure that you have equipped the Arbalest. Otherwise there is no chance of getting this Exotic Linear Fusion Rifle Catalyst.

Can you get Arbalest catalyst from Nightfalls?

Legend and Master Vanguard Nightfall Strikes have a common chance to drop Exotic Engrams. For a more guaranteed way of getting Arbalest, Guardians can purchase these Engrams from Xur each weekend.

How do you finish an Arbalest catalyst?

Players will need to get quite a few kills with the weapon, at an estimated 500 total kills. These don't need to be precision kills, but given the weapon's somewhat lengthy charge time, it can take some practice to get used to hitting targets.
