Jack in the Box Teriyaki Bowl........

in Food

  1. Has anyone had Jack in the Box's new teriyaki bowl?

Um, I know it's not gourmet but I have a problem with not being able to resist the lure of fast food commercials........

But, I am unwilling to spend $4.29 without any positive references.......

  2. This is a remix...they had them some years back and I thought they were tasty in a clinch...but they only had chicken...not the steak...so I plan to try that one.  The discontinued them in like '05 or sometthing...

Back then it was more rice and less sauce so you always had to ask for an extra sauce on the side...but I liked them! ;)

  3. it's like getting green burrito at carl's jr

  4. check for the coupon in the mail...i'm probably gonna try it out eventually.

  5. I think it's been more than 5 years now since they discontinued them
I use to order a Chicken Bowl w/ egg roll

  6. dont they have breakfast bowls too?

  7. Who remembers back in the mid to late 80's when Jack in the Box use to sell nachos!  They were halla good!!!

  8. I heard the breakfast bowls are good too.... but I haven't tried one

  11. The thought of semi Asian Jack in the box scares me. I won't try the breakfast bowls either because of the cheese sauce. blech.

  12. It's more like late night drunk food.
    So, don't expect to much...

  13. Why is this categorized under "Food?"

  15. Ya. I had one last week after this post.
Little disappointing from what I remember..

  17. I was sad when they discontinued the original a few yrs. back.  I was excited and decided to try the Steak one this weekend.  Maybe because I'm older now and "carb" conscious there seemed to be WAY too much rice in that thing.  When you consider how much meat and veggies you get (a broccoli florette and few shreds of carrot) scattered over the top of this mountain of *gasp*  white rice.  The sauce tasted better I guess.  For those prices I'll probably pass on it in the future.

The sauce IS gross...they throw hash brown sticks in there too...WTF?! probably wouldn't be bad if you asked for just bacon egg and cheese (um..real cheese..the shredded stuff...not that sauce)

yeah..I think the rule is to eat what's on top...when there is no more sauce you stop...(which is like half the rice in the bowl)

Now I kinda want one ;-)

  22. the one back in the day tasted better.

if you try one, try the chicken.

  23. So I tried the chicken one. It is safe to eat (yay, no belly ache) and the meat was not threatening. Good job Jack.
Kinda skimpy on the meat and veggies, there is a lot of rice
Not for a hungry man but worth it if you have a coupon.......

Thanks for all the feedback people!

  24. Peas, coleslaw, melon balls, shaved ice, prunes, laser pointers, confetti, RAIN.

  25. They had them way back when. When I don't feel like eating anything fried, that's what I usually get. Pretty good, but, it IS fast food.

*CURDS AND WHEY!* (I love that commercial)

  28. Costco has frozen teriyaki bowls that are pretty darn tasty and only cost $13 for a box of 6.

  31. They're pretty good, aren't they?

  32. Reporting back...

    Nasty now.

    Pass

  33. The chicken teriyaki bowl is fuckin delicious.

  34. - the chicken, the stuffs not bad.  I agree

  35. as someone who is used to tons of faster teriyaki restaurants in seattle, i thought the jack n the box teriyaki bowl was decent. the cuts of meat were boneless, skinless and cooked relatively well. however, the teriyaki sauce was too sweet for me. it's a decent thing to get every once in a while, but doesn't have great repeat value. not sure if i'd come back and order a teriyaki bowl or just stick with the sourdough jacks with curly fries.

  36. You should try the teriyaki chicken at Woodsham's  Deli  and their prices are decent

  37. i heard its too sweet...ya?
