Jeep Running Boards & Side Steps for Wrangler

Climb in and out of your ride comfortably by adding one of our Jeep Wrangler side steps as an upgrade to your vehicle. These simple accessories are offered in a range of styles, and they let you customize the look of your Jeep while creating a functional step at the same time. These special bars are made from different materials, they're designed to be easy to install, and they are an excellent upgrade for Wrangler owners that invest in lift kits. If you want your stock Jeep to be easier to climb in, or you have a lifted Jeep that needs a step, our nerf bars or side steps are a nice addition.

Jeep Nerf Bars

To choose Jeep Wrangler side steps that will function well for you, they must be matched to your Jeep Wrangler model year. Choose a matching product, and it should bolt into position without requiring modifications to make them work. As long as you invest in a high-quality product, you'll enjoy years of performance, and it will be simple for a mechanic to install on your ride. Quality Jeep side steps improve your Wrangler by:

  • making it easier to climb in
  • allowing you to customize its look further
  • enhancing side protection during everyday driving

These side steps are offered in different materials and styles. They can be made from steel, a thick ABS plastic or aluminum. Each material has its benefits, but it's up to you to decide whether the strength of steel, the lightweight performance and corrosion resistance of aluminum, or the affordability of ABS are worth prioritizing. Once you're familiar with your material options and you know what you value most out of your Wrangler's running boards, you can choose the product that will work well for you. Make sure your steps offer enough grip and that they give you a wide enough surface to stand on comfortably. Some steps come with rubber grips; others have a diamond grip texture or another unique surface design to enhance grip performance. Get steps that allow you to step up confidently, even if it's wet outdoors. This is the product that will keep you safe and give you dependable performance for many years.

Retractable Side Steps for Jeeps

Along with basic running boards, we offer advanced Jeep Wrangler side steps, some of which are retractable. If you'll be off-roading regularly, or you want a more minimalist look, you can get retractable steps that get out of the way when you aren't using them. You can do the same with some of the Jeep mirrors. These steps are simple to use and more advanced than many other options. Some of the steps are powered and will expand when you step and retract while you drive. These accessories are cool to use, and they're very convenient as well.

Before deciding on side steps, running boards, or nerf bars, consider how wide they are and how much coverage you'll enjoy on your Jeep. Some of these steps extend from the front to the rear tire and give you ample room to climb up and down. Others have a compact platform that you can only stand on in one or two locations. Consider the size you have to work with and use that information to help you choose a product that will suit your needs well. With so many different side steps and running board products on the market, you can find accessories that look nice and that perform well too. Use the steps as a chance to customize your Jeep and consider adding on off-road accessories to make your ride even more capable. Before you know it, you'll be taking on trails and making the most of your Jeep. Enhance your ride with one improvement at a time until it's customized to be exactly the way you want it.

Fitment Includes:

  • Rubicon, Sahara, Sport S, Sport, Unlimited, Islander, Rocky Mountain, Renegade Wranglers

What is the difference between a Jeep sport's and a Rubicon?

While the Sport, otherwise known as the standard Wrangler, is made with cloth upholstery and hard plastic trim, the Rubicon offers premium cloth or leather upholstery. To top it off, the higher trim option also offers heated front seats and steering wheel, plus an additional interior color option.

What does JK stand for Jeep?

So, you're probably wondering what does JK mean for Jeep? Unlike the Jeep CJ model, the precursor to the Wrangler, where “CJ” stood for Civilian Jeep, “JK” doesn't stand for anything specific and is just engineering code to distinguish the different Wrangler generations.

Can you put running boards on a Jeep Wrangler?

Fortunately, you can easily add running boards to your 2-door Jeep Wrangler if it doesn't already have them. The dealership where you got your vehicle might have running boards available for purchase, and you should also be able to find a variety online that would be compatible with a 2-door Jeep Wrangler.

Can you still buy a 2 door Wrangler?

The 2023 Jeep Wrangler is available in two-door and four-door body styles (the latter is referred to as the Wrangler Unlimited), as well as eight trim levels: Sport, Willys Sport, Sport S, Willys, Sahara, High Altitude, Rubicon and Rubicon 392.
