Your first encounter with Waltz won't be a good one — you're chased by his men during the Let's Waltz story quest. After you escape from your first encounter with Waltz in the metro tunnel, the story quest called A Place To Call Home will begin.

How To Complete A Place To Call Home Story Quest

Dying Light 2 A Place To Call Home Main Quest

After you have turned the power on and escaped through the metro tunnel with the help of the sniper, the sniper will reveal that she is Lawan. She's also a victim of Waltz's experiments and wants to take revenge on him.

THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY

Aiden will tell her that he has the GRE key and wants to go to the Fish Eye Canteen to find out about the terminal to use the key with. Lawan will say that she is willing to help you, but only after you complete a simple job for her.

Follow Lawan

Dying Light 2 A Place To Call Home Main Quest Lawan

Once you meet up with Lawan after taking a short nap, she will tell you to follow her to the roof. Go behind her and get to the terrace area using the cable inside the elevator.

Interact with the door to initiate a cutscene. Lawan will be happy that the city is now glowing with lights, but the power will be out soon after. She will then insist you help her in bringing the power back on by going to the substations.

She will give you a Paraglider, which will help you to traverse in the air and cover more distances.

Follow the controls on the screen to use the Paraglider and go behind Lawan. Keep following her from rooftops using the Paraglider.

Since you have limited stamina, the Paraglider will drain more stamina when using it. If your stamina gets depleted while in the air, the Paraglider will fail, and you will fall to the ground.

To recover stamina in the air and keep control of the Paraglider, glide over the fan vents installed on the roofs.

The air from the fans will push you up and enable you to reach the further rooftops easily.

After following Lawan to the second rooftop, she will tell you to go on your own to the substation.

Head To The Substation

Follow the marker to the Downtown Electrical Station and interact with the door. A cutscene will begin where a few Peacemakers will appear from behind and start asking you questions.

As you are talking to the Peacemakers, some Renegade soldiers will come into the area for a fight. Defeat the intruders with the help of Peacemakers. After the fight, talk to the Peacemaker near the door.

When the cutscene ends, you will now have to enter the substation through the window above the locked door. Use the storage room on the left side to get on the metal structure and go towards the window.

Repair The Generators

Once inside, you will now have to restore the power by repairing the generators. There are a total of six generators in the substation, where three are in working condition.

You will have to connect the working generators with the broken generators using a power cable. Each generator has a number printed on the top. Find the broken generator of the same number and connect the power line of the working generator with it.

Generator One

As you enter through the window, jump down in the middle. You will see a working generator number one in front of you.

Interact with the generator to grab the cable and look behind to find the broken generator of the same number. Go to the generator and attach the cable with it.

Generator Two

The second generator is on the top floor where you entered through the window. Go to the right from the window to find broken generator number two.

The working generator of the same number is on the other side of the top floor. Grab the cable from the working generator and use the rope in the middle to swing towards the broken generator. Interact with the broken generator to attach the cable.

Generator Three

The last generator is in the basement, which you can reach using the stairs on the ground floor. Head to the basement and grab the cable.

Now go towards the elevator shaft on the right and climb to the top floor. The broken generator will be right in front of you. Attach the cable with the generator to get it working.

The power will come back, and the elevator will start working. Look behind and enter the elevator on the side you came. It will take you to the control room.

Before you activate the facility and complete the activity, collect all the loot from the area you need, or else the loot will disappear.

Interact with the terminal to activate the substation. You will now have the choice of assigning the substation to either Peacekeepers or Survivors. Each faction will give you different rewards and place unique structures near the surroundings.

After choosing the faction, you will teleport to the top when the cutscene ends. If you assign the facility to Peacekeepers, you will talk with the soldiers who were at the gate earlier.

Go To The Fish Eye Canteen

Dying Light 2 A Place To Call Home Main Quest Fish Eye Canteen

Your next objective is to meet with Lawan at the Fish Eye canteen. Enter the canteen and ask the people around for Lawan. They will tell you to look at the bar. Head to the bar and interact with the bartender to initiate a cutscene where Lawan will come from behind.

She will introduce you to her friend Danior, who will not be a big fan of you. After the talk, follow Lawan to meet with Frank, the owner of the bar and a Nightrunner.

As you enter Frank's room, he will be drunk and talking to himself. Aiden will show Frank the GRE key, but he will tell you both to leave. The only information he will share is that you need to access a terminal to look for the GRE database.

Defend The Fish Eye

Dying Light 2 A Place To Call Home Main Quest Renegade Soldier defending a cannon

Soon after, the area will get surrounded by the Renegades, and they will start attacking the Fish Eye.

  • Go outside and defend the Fish Eye from the enemies. Kill the soldiers fighting a lone warrior.
  • The Renegades will have put cannons on the roof. The cannons are on the rooftops with yellow markers. You will only get two minutes to disable the cannons before they deal more damage to the building.
  • Head to the rooftop with the cannon and defeat the enemies there. Interact with the cannon to disable it.
  • More enemies will appear on the first floor of Fish Eye. Use your Paraglider to reach them before they do more damage.
  • As you defeat them, the second cannon will appear on the rooftop on the right. Head there as quick as you can and disable the cannon after defeating the enemies around it.
  • The third cannon shooting at the building is just across the street on the rooftop. Use your Paraglider and go up from the fan vent to reach the rooftop. Defeat the enemies and disable the cannon.

Help Lawan And Talk To Jack Matt

Dying Light 2 A Place To Call Home Main Quest Lawan in Fish Eye Canteen

As soon as you disable the cannon, you will have 40 seconds to reach the Fish Eye and help Lawan. Glide down to the Fish Eye canteen and go inside.

Open the door to initiate a cutscene. Frank will be in danger from one of the Renegade soldiers, and Lawan will help Frank. Another Renegade soldier will come from behind and attack Lawan. He will be about to swing his weapon at you when Jack Matt, leader of the Peacekeepers, rushes in and saves you.

Jack Matt will thank you for saving his soldiers and start asking questions from you. You can choose to either lie to him or tell the truth. The first dialogue option will not have any effect, but the second dialogue option is the decisive one.

  • Say What Happened To Aitor — Aiden will tell the truth, and you will unlock the side quest Aitor during the Welcome on Board story mission.
  • Lie and say you don't know what happened to Aitor — You will not unlock the Aitor side quest if you choose this option.

After that, Jack Matt will tell you to meet with Lieutenant Rowe to know more about the GRE databases and where you will find them.

This completes the A Place to Call Home story mission, and you will unlock 2,000x Combat XP, 2000x Parkour XP, Walking Stick weapon, Master of Onion weapon charm, 1x Military Medkit, and 5x Shock Arrows.

How do you leave Lawan in Dying Light 2?

So, in short, if you want to leave with Lawan, you need to: Keep Hakon alive. Save Frank. Let Lawan detonate the charges.

Should I save Lawan or let her detonate it?

Saving Lawan is considered the bad ending of Dying Light 2 and letting her detonate the bombs gives players the good ending in Dying Light 2. Although Mia will die if Lawan detonates the bombs, Aiden will save Villedor, and Lawan may also be saved depending on earlier decisions.

Can you romance Lawan in Dying Light 2?

In short, no, you cannot romance Lawan in Dying Light 2. While a romance system doesn't exist in the game, your choices determine whether you get a good or bad outcome. So, at the end of the day, you can still run away with the City's most fearsome rogue if you play your cards right.

What happens if you dont save Lawan?

The city will survive, but Lawan will die. Without X13, Mia will die shortly thereafter, and Aiden will leave the city.
