Man jumps off george washington bridge 2022

A 38-year-old Queens man died after jumping off the George Washington Bridge Wednesday morning, officials and sources said.

The man from Woodside left his Toyota on the westbound lower level of the bridge and leaped just after 7 a.m. His body was pulled from the water at 7:35 a.m. and taken to Pier 125.

Port Authority police are investigating.

The victim's identity has not been released.

It was the 13th suicide from the bridge in 2017. PAPD officers have prevented 59 others.

A man died after jumping from the George Washington Bridge on Monday, the very day work began to install a suicide-prevention fence on the overpass.

The man leapt from the north walkway of the bridge at about 2:45 p.m., according to Joseph Pentangelo, senior public information officer for the Port Authority.

FORT LEE, NJ — A 36-year-old woman jumped to her death from the George Washington Bridge around 6 a.m. Friday, according to authorities.

Her death was confirmed a suicide, Port Authority spokesperson Lenis Valens said.

New York police Sgt. Anwar Ishmael also said no criminality is suspected.

No additional information is available at this time, authorities said.
