Music Tales Read about music throughout history There used to be a comment here... Someone had described their experience with this song, their fascination with .hack//, and this fanmade video they saw with this song. The video was eventually erased, much like said comment, but one day this person stumbled upon this page and rediscovered that song. In their words, [EDIT: Thanks to an archive of this page, I have found the original comment, which you can read below.] I never thought I'd hear this song ever again. This song is pure heartache from a time long lost. Nearly a decade ago, When .hack was in it's prime, when anime was larger than my tiny life itself, when I was finding the foundations of my life, hobbies and inspirations, back when I was in my pre-teens .hack//link was coming out and I couldn't be more excited. While the internet was still young I looked for the .hack//link manga online and found a youtube video that played this song while slowly slideshowing, up till that point, one of the milestones of my life, the new .hack I always wanted. I hear the song in the background of it... it sounded beautiful. Yet I didn't feel compelled to find the track name. I await the localization of that amazing new .hack//link game for PSP with ache in my heart, watching every teaser, every trailer, every .hack related thing I could discover. Life goes on; one day this very song plays it's beautiful hum in my mind. Memories from the past.. come to haunt me again. I quickly try to find the video to find this track. Gone. Erased... the channel owner probably deleted his account. All hope is lost, I can never find this song ever and it's symphonic hymn aches my heart to never hear it once more. .hack//link never comes to the US. Japan has robbed me of my hope once again. Part of me died the day I stopped caring about waiting for .hack//link and any new .hack. Yet the question hurts me inside, why? Why couldn't they do it with all the people who love .hack in the west? Why do I feel so left out..? Why Japan? Why is this world so unfair? Time marches on, I found new anime and newer versions of my old hobbies reborn into the present. Play Undertale, adore it, which leads to Earthbound, Eight Melodies, Smiles and Tears, Some channel that uploads remixes of video game music (MasterEnex), Some of the songs sound nice, I see Megaman Zero remixes on his channel and give it a listen, Sounds good, See the title "Brave New World" in the recommended videos, I feel compelled to click on it, those words always resonated with me somehow... I cannot believe what I'm hearing. At long last, there it is. The memories, of that world long passed, everything from that time embedded in these chords, these melodies, these beats, everything. It beats like a heart. .hack, when I first found anime, the music, the internet, the games, all of it floods back like it was just sitting right beside me this whole time. Time and people may have forgotten it, but not me. Not ever! I'm so overjoyed I should cry. The me from that time so worried of the future enjoying the present while he could... you can leave your fears with me. I'm here now. ... This song... it's as real as life itself. It's so real, I could die. My heart aches once more, not from despair, but from joy. I found a Brave New World.
