Boston-based New Balance is a brand that knows exactly what it takes to make a good collaboration, and this effort with Joe Robinson (aka Joe Freshgoods) is no exception. For their third joint project, JFG takes the lead on New Balance's new 9060 model, and offers up the resulting pastel-hued Joe Freshgoods x New Balance 9060 Inside Voices "Baby Shower Blue."

Part of the duo's Inside Voices collection, the 9060 "Baby Shower Blue" plays a small part in telling the story of JFG's experience of growing up in a Black household, with the rest of the collection coveying intentional graphics to illustrate this even further. For this pair, the storytelling comes from the "Baby Shower" colourway, which sees the chunky sneaker arrive in pastel blue and pink hues across its premium suede and mesh construction. This comes complete with quilted liners for a soft touch, and Inside Voices branding hits at the heels. Finally, comfy pink, cream, and white midsoles round off the "Baby Shower" JFG 9060's theme.

One of the many names we have to thank for New Balance’s recent revitalization in the sneaker world is no other than JoeFreshGoods. The Chicago designer has blessed New Balance and the world with his thoughtful design and carefully crafted storytelling through multiple NB silhouettes. Under a new project entitled “Inside Voices,” Joe wants to remind us all that what happens inside the home is equally as important as what happens outside. Conveying this message alongside the “Penny Cookie Pink” colorway is the JoeFreshGoods x New Balance 9060 Inside Voices in “Baby Shower Blue.”

The 9060 silhouette is one of New Balance's latest designs, combining elements from the 99X series and 860 to create a chunkier, more modern silhouette. JFG chooses to dress the upper in a mixture of baby blue suede overlays and a muted pink mesh underlay. Beige laces and N logo provide contrast to the colorful combo seen throughout. More branding comes in the form of a 9060 tag along the collar and NB9060 text placed in a window atop the tongue.

The quilted sockliner and tongue lining come in a more vibrant pink compared to the mesh panels below. JFG graphics land on the cloud-laden pink insole, coming in a teal shade. Split between each pair is the title of the collaboration, with “Inside” and “Voices” on the left and right pair respectively. Underfoot, a chunky midsole takes on a pink, white and grey combo with a protruding translucent rubber overlay on the heel. Finishing off the look is a multi-colored rubber outsole.

Originally set to release on May 16th, 2022 on Joe's IG Shop page, The JoeFreshGoods x New Balance 9060 Inside Voices Baby Shower Blue was pushed back until May 18th. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $180 and will release exclusively via JFG's IG shop.
