As usual, Jin Yong takes a long time to introduce the main plot. Having Huang Rong and Guo Jing around from the start really made the introductory section a lot more fun, and to my surprise, I actually found myself liking the main couple that is supposed to be the heart of this romance.

Unfortunately, my enjoyment rapidly waned after their misunderstanding and separation. All the comedy bits with Lu Wushuang were just the worst. I want to like Li Mochou, but the events with her are a repetitive c

I want to like Li Mochou, but the events with her are a repetitive cycle of fighting and running away. My opinion of this one could really increase if Xiao Longnu gets her own central narrative sections, but if there's too much Yang Guo teasing random women this one could be rough.

Cha's fiction, which is of the wuxia ("martial arts and chivalry") genre, has a widespread following in Chinese-speaking areas, in
