Roomba doesnt pick up dog hair

Hi Roomba friends, I am a new Roomba mom (i7+) as of one week ago and I’ve really been enjoying watching it toodle around and clean up after my dog. It was doing that with a fair bit of success for the first couple days, but yesterday I noticed that it didn’t pick up any dog hair from my living room rug. I thought maybe it needed to charge before completing the job so I waited a bit, but it said the job was finished, so I had it clean just that room. Same thing—just pushes the dog hair around, doesn’t seem to vacuum it up at all.

I cleaned out the rubber rollers today (it’s amazing how much dog hair had already built up around the ends) and attempted another run, but still no dice. Tomorrow I’m planning to do a more thorough inspection and cleaning of the robot, but I’m wondering if anyone else has had this problem? To be clear, the robot was definitely cleaning the area rug before (I watched it), and now it’s not. Is it defective or is there something I’m missing with cleaning the rollers?

Why isn't my Roomba picking up dog hair?

Re: Roomba 880 not picking up pet hair and fluffy debris You probably need to replace both cleaning brushes (extractors) then test again. Also you may be able to check if the brushes are moving by just sticking your fingers under the Roomba when you just start a cleaning session.

After a second or third pass, the Roomba 960 picked up the pet hair in our tests, though the hair was stuck between the brush roll and the bin. CR's take: The I3+ iRobot Roomba (and the similar i3) earn an Excellent rating in our pet-hair tests, thanks in part to their rubber brush rolls.

Is Roomba good for dog hair on hardwood floors?

The iRobot Roomba i3+ earns an Excellent rating in our pet-hair tests, thanks in part to its rubber brush rolls. Beyond that, it excels in its ability to remove debris from bare floors in our tests.

Why does Roomba leaving clumps of hair?

The i7 probably has more suction than your other Roomba, so it pulls out more hair. As you run the i7 (daily), the clumps get less and less (or if you do a deep clean with a conventional vacuum). Lots of posts here about this phenomenon, and how it goes away. You do need to run the i7 daily though.
