Rose City Classic dog show 2022 schedule

Each year the Oregon Dog Judges offers seminars + workshops during the Rose City Classic series of dog shows and events in January in Portland, Oregon.  Breeds from a different group are offered each year in catalog order.  2023 will be Herding, 2024 Sporting, 2025 Hounds, etc.  There are 4 all-breed shows with entries near 2,000 dogs and specialties on Wednesday.

  • 11 or 12 seminars and hands-on workshops (3 CEUs)
  • Each workshop is limited to 30 attendees.  Registrations over 30 will be for seminar only and will be kept on a wait list.  This will be figured by breed.

    • Australian Shepherd-Miniature American Shepherd Comparison
  • Specialties on Wednesday do not include any herding breeds, but there are supported entries at the all-breed shows in Australian Cattle Dogs, Belgian Sheepdogs, Bouvier des Flandres, Old English Sheepdogs, and Shetland Sheepdogs.

    $35/breed seminar + workshop
    $25/breed for seminar only.
    Full refund if seminars are cancelled

The Rose City Classic provides a continuous shuttle service for overnight guests & their dogs between the hotel the dog shows.

It spans 5 days, starting with Individual Breeds and Group (all Terrier breeds, e.g.) Specialty Shows  on Wednesday, followed by 4 days of all-breed dog shows representing more than 175 individual breeds!

The Rose City Classic Dog Show is one of the largest and most popular dog events in the United States.

The all-breed shows feature breed judging, which is also known as conformation. At Rose City Classic, more than 170 AKC breeds compete in conformation to earn championships, Best of Breed and Best in Show. In addition to conformation, Rose City Classic offers top-notch performance and companion events such as agility, obedience, Rally®, Canine Good Citizen and even the new AKC events, Trick Dogs and Temperament Testing.

Our annual American Kennel Club conformation show will be held at the North Florida Fair Grounds February 23-27, 2022. Spectators are welcome. There is a $10 per car/walk-in entrance fee. The show includes agility, lure coursing, obedience trials and DOCK DIVING!
