Samsung s20 moisture detected wont go away reddit

Honestly there isn't much you can do that about that. Usually you just need get the port replaced. That said, sometimes it's a firmware problem. There's a few things you can still try: (1) try updating the phone; (2) draining the battery to 0%, charging it (while off) to 100%, and keeping it plugged in while still turned off for 2 hours after it hits 100%; (3) go into recovery mode and wipe the cache partition. If none of those work then I'm afraid you'll probably have to replace the charging port. Failing that, there is always the option of wireless charging, but that's it quite slow.

I had the exact same problem with my S8. Similarly my charging port on my S20 practically stopping working a couple weeks ago and I had to replace it. It's not an uncommon problem with Samsung, unfortunately.

I had this before. Try power cycling it while the phone is plugged in and charging. This worked for me.

I can't turn it off when the phone is plugged in because I can't make the alert go away until I unplug it.

UPDATE

PLEASE STOP REPLYING TO THIS POST. IT'S A YEAR AND A HALF OLD. ANY ISSUES THAT I HAD AT THAT TIME HAVE BEEN RESOLVED AND I NO LONGER USE THE S20 ULTRA.

I have tried scraping the charge port for debris, clearing phone cache, safemode, and plugging the phone in as it's turning on.

Someone else suggested, and I am going to second, attempting to charge with the device completely turn off. If it works off, let it go for a few minutes and turn it on without removing the cable. Hopefully it will just turn on like normal without any warning.

If the warning persists it might be work taking it in to a Samsung store or somewhere to see if they can do anything about it.

Original cable and 45w brick. Have tried other cables/bricks as well. I've occasionally had this issue before but never for this long.

thanks i actually tired switching cables myself that seemed to fix it for me :) and not it even works with my original cable :)

Looking at your replies in the comments, it seems that you've already tried everything possible..probably best to take it in to a specialist..I would however not rule out the issue of a charger or a cable..I had a power bank that I used to charge my s10 with..strangely enough, whenever it charged the device to 85%, it would start depicting this error..every single time, 85% and boom..

I'm seriously at a loss for what to do. My phone is a lease but I'm due for an early upgrade. I wasn't really looking to upgrade until the S22 though so it's pretty annoying.

Luckily my battery is still doing amazing so it hasn't really been an issue unless I forget to put it on the wireless charger before bed. Took it off the charger 15 hours ago and still have 51%. I just don't have my super fast charging.

Yeah now you have to buy a new z fold 3. So sad

Oh my god, I have an S10+ and I had this problem too, took it to samsung cuz I tried many different ways to fix it and it didn't work. They managed to fix it (after a factory reset tho) and it's been 2 months with no issues. BUT NOW, JUST NOW, IT CAME BACK!! I'm starting to hate Samsung, what a hassle for a phone... can't believe I'll leave my phone with them for a week and will get another reset. Man... I'm sad, truly.

What update are you on? Mine was fixed with the August update.

, we would get these issues a lot. You have two options as long as there's no visible damage and no moisture LDIs triggered then you should be find to call Samsung for a replacement. They may tell you to first get it inspected by a specialist. But basically when it has this error it's a defective motherboar

horrible idea you can get hurt don't ever suggest this to anyone. you might as well put your hand on a lit stove. don't trust anyone with a bitcoin pfp either

Hope you get this fixed. I had this problem with my S8+ for months. Factory resets, all online guides nothing helped. It was a AT&T phone and I switched to Verizon. Put in a Verizon sim and it went away and never came back. I'm thinking it was a software bug.

Clean the port. There might be something in there tripping the moisture detector.

Hair-dryer treatment has usually worked for me in the past. Low temperature and leave it for a while.

It will charge from the cable if it’s shut down
