I have just got myself a new Sauer 100, in 6.5 Creedmore. I have got hold of some 131 grain soft point ammo by Sellier and Bellot. Has anyone any experience as to quality and performance of Sellier and Bellot?
Many thanks in advance

There's mixed views and, true to tell, I think a lot is subjective as to if YOUR rifle performs well with it. Some will say that the Germans refer to S & B as "scheiss und billing" yet I have had acceptable results with their brass for reloading and certainly there's not the dinks and dings that you'll see in a bag on new Relcom brass. Be open minded and give it a fair test. You may find it suits you.

I have never had a problem with S & B and have used there Rimfire, Centrefire, and shot thousands of Woodies with S & B Practice cartriges i am sure some of you will remember them

recently bought an RPA .243 from Steve at SG Arms on here, he tells me that these rounds shoot very well in this rifle, if i can get some i'll give them a try and post the results, does anyone know what weight and type of head they come in?

Used plenty of their 9.3x74R and 9.3x62. Never a problem so give them a whirl.

Tried 130 grain Sellier and Bellot through my 270. Hopeless. Target ended up looking more like a shotgun pattern plate. Won't be bothering with them again.

Used to use their 12g shotgun cartridges they were awful, lots of smoke, very loud and wadding like shredded newspaper.

I had x3 rounds of S&B .308/180 grain overlap at 100m through a T3. The Rifle shoots well with most rounds it’s fair to say, but not that tight. Give them a go. If they group well stick with them, if not, try something else until you find something that does. My mate uses the same batch of S&B through his Sauer 202 with similar results.

Correction to my post above: The ones I tried and found so bad were 150 grain, not 130.

I bought a couple of boxes of 140g from my 6.5cm TAC A1 - didn’t group well at all

You need to try it in your rifle. A rifle either likes a brand and type or ammunition or it doesn’t.

A question I have, had anyone shot a deer with the 131gr soft point bullet loaded in the 6.5 creedmoor?

Thanks for the replies, some interesting results, but positive in the main. Will post my results asap.
Thanks again.

No great quality if I have to be honest

I watched the boss at WMS shooting a savage axis .243 using S/B ammo getting good results hitting a fig 11 target at a thousand yards , to say I was impressed is a under statement.

I have used S&B cases for reloading my Savage 99 in .22 Savage High Power. The brass is of excellent quality, if that helps ....

I have shot the 140g 6.5 creedmoor through my rifle now. Sub half inch and if I didn’t have time to reload I wouldn’t hesitate to use it.

Just as I recall, and pretty dirty with it too! Haven't even seen S&B rifle cartridges, sorry.

So having heard good things about the 140gr SP S&B stuff, I tried it in my Bergara B14. I achieved an average velocity of 2721 (24" tube) with an ES of 77fps

At 100m I got a 0.77" group @ 100m which translates to 0.67 MOA. For £20 a box I think it is very good!

7x57 140 is sub 1" in my aging Rigby. A friend of mine gets something very resembling open choke in his.

This is the same ammo in my 6.5CM Tikka CTR at 100 yards.
