After reading the English scans on this I can say that this is a truly disheartening ending. There are many points and plot here that need answering or shouldn't have happened. The "happy" ending isn't all too fitting with AOT especially with what was given literally before. I know this is a story of breaking the cycle of hate, but this was a really baseline way to go around it, literally no different to TPN ending lmao. Alas, Ellen becomes dove (crying) is literally real lol.

Would give the ending 5/10, hell maybe even a 4.

But hey, at least we have a meme ending if nothing else lmao. Thanks for the ride Yams. Was nice I guess.

i still enjoyed it, ye i got shit taste but i get that Ymir (the Founder) wants to be free of her love for the King and she saw that on Mikasa when she killed Eren her lover too, pretty symbolic shit about FREEDOM

ELLEN BECOMES DOVE (CRYING) is not a fake spoiler anymore and will live as a meme for a long time

after reading the extra pages i say 139 is the biggest plot twist of the manga and this manga has a lot of plot twist anyway
its a matter of perspective since the haters call it character assassination and inconsistent story or even retcon instead of another plot twist

reverse mist ending or AnR foreshadowing
- chapter 089 - the owl said to grisha to do the plan in order to save mikasa, armin and others
- chapter 108 - eren wants his friends to live long lives so he will not pass the attack titan to any of them
- chapter 127 - mikasa x jean foreshadowing
- chapter 133 - reiner said to mikasas face that eren wants someone to stop him

but ye the AnR ending has some foreshadowing too so im not saying there are no reasons for it to be the ending too

plot twist have foreshadowing
retcon has no foreshadowing

Attack on Titan has multiple paths to an ending like a Visual Novel

but still the extra pages implies Genocide can be a Necessary Evil and that is a dangerous message from this realistic manga, dont get me wrong im a fan of Thanos but its just that Attack on Titan is supposed to be a realistic story according to many and at least Thanos was a villain right from the start compared to Eren that only become the villain in the ending arc

we know Ymir is the mastermind of it all so maybe she only did 80% genocide of the world for the sake of hallucigenia or the worm and its continued doing of the titan curse for the next generations, since the Eldians are free of the titan curse so the hallucigenia needs a new race to infect

or maybe Eren is only following the PATH made by Ymir (we are all slave to something as one of the theme) who has plans for Mikasa
its all for the choice of Mikasa in the end so thats why he cannot complete the Rumbling

I agree a little with this. I liked up to about 137-ish. I need to re-read and see where the cop out begins.

Really and truly I would have liked for some real dark ending but we get this YuGiOh type friendship plot which doesn't really fit aot. just my opinion on it lol. for the most part, aot is fun tho.

no, the leaks are enough. after i've read the raws it's even worse then i first believed

I didnt think that after what D&D did to my beloved Game of Thrones, that I'd ever be hurt like that again by a series that I loved to death and called a favorite

This chapter is one of the worst things I've ever read (Including all of the dumb endings I saw on Titanfolk) and now SnK is officially disqualified from being a masterpiece and the potential GOAT of shounen

8/10 overall since there's way more greatness than dogshit but man this shit just tarnished it so much

Chapter 140:
The whole world invades Paradis Island so they won't be a threat in the future. And they can't even defend themselves because Eren wasted the Titan shifting powers for no reason...
At least Reiner survived, the only person who didn't want to...

I don't know what to say. I couldn't have thought of a worse shit even if you put a gun on my head. I expected ending to not be good but this exceeds my wildest imaginations. 8 years of being obsessed with this series and this is how it ends. Just beautiful. Isayama, I am speechless.

The Rumbling arc and specifically the last stretch of chapters bring the overall score of the manga down to 8/107/10 (edit after additional pages) for me.

But this chapter is really testing my love for ch2-123/ch230-131... I really want to slap a 7/10 (I did after edit) rating instead for one of the shittiest ending delivered by Isayama. Bittersweet? Nah bruh, I feel assaulted.

Removed from favorites, only thing left from this story on my profile is Chad Erwin. He died early enough to not have his character assassinated by Isayama.

As it turns out I feel like the biggest loser turned out to be Eren himself. What was the point of wiping 80% or something, it feels so half baked.
Even some fan made endings were better that this.

I watched naruto from eps 1 until he became hokage. I knew the naruto pattern with talk no jutsu ending. But seeing naruto talk no jutsu in snk is so retarded. Armong fix the 100 years hate cycled with the power of talk no jutsu. The scene where everyone de-titanized just the same event when all shinobi freed from Tsukoyomi.
