In terms of burst damage the Skyward Spine R2 appears to be a little behind "The Catch" R5 on average, however the Skyward Spine still makes up for it in skill damage (or at least against a single target, although realistically "The Catch" should likely cause even more damage overall during common multiple enemy situations), although you'll also need a bit more substat Energy Recharge compared to the highly valuable F2P "The Catch", for example (the following are values with low enemy level mitigation, in reality damage'd be a bit lower):

This was from the standard banner pity, not the weapon banner. I just wanted a Keqing. Is this weapon good? Just wondering It's OKAY on Raiden, but no more than that. The Catch is superior, and easily farmed to R5. That said, if you're also using Xiangling, now you just need to choose one to have The Catch and one to have Skyward. People say its one of the worst 5 stars but that doesnt mean its bad compared to 4* weapons. It definitely works on Raiden since ER is very useful on her, passive is kinda meh Nah, i think they're right. The Catch R5 would be better on Raiden, disregarding artifacts. they both get ER regardless, and ER is also Raiden's Ascension stat. Skyward Spine doesn't get that much more ER. What it comes down to is comparing their passives, pretty much. And The Catch R5 is just plain better, for either xiangling or raiden. So it comes down to their passives. The Catch boosts all damage during raidens burst, since normal attacks during burst are considered burst damage. Skyward Spine gives attack speed and crit rate and 40% atk dmg in aoe, but the catch gives way more damage over all. So for xiangling and raiden, use the catch when you can. Between the two, Skyward spine wants raiden, since she would do more normal attacks. I know they were right, my comment wasn't directed to them, it was to the OP. Spine is still better than some 4* polearms but I know catch is better than spine. Probably my fault for not clarifying. That being said, The Catch is a betch to farm, and most people got tired of people wanting fish for a while, idk about now. I just got it to R4 lvl 40, personally. I honestly said most of that to work it out on the keyboard for myself, sorry... Skyward spine is actually better for raiden than r5 the catch but just by a little bit The only possible defense of Skyward Spine over The Catch on Raiden is you're using The Catch on Xiangling. Is Skyward Spine good for Xiangling?For players who use Xiangling as a support character, the Skyward Spine is an excellent match for Xiangling. Whether she is being utilized as a Pyro Sub-DPS or Burst Sub-DPS, more Energy Recharge is very beneficial for her and her team. As a support character, Xiangling relies on her Elemental Burst, the Pyronado.
Is Skyward Spine better than Dragons Bane Xiangling?Even in a Vaporize team, Skyward Spine will do so much more damage. Dragonsbane has a low 454 base attack compared to Skyward Spine's 674 (at level 90/90). That difference is huge. Elemental Mastery and Dragon's Bane's special ability can't make up the difference.
Who is the Skyward Spine best for?The Skyward Spine is a good weapon for characters who rely on their Elemental Burst to support the team or do DMG. It's perfect for characters who need only a small improvement to their Energy Recharge to trade for more DMG.
Is Skyward Spine good for Bal?If you're not worried about Energy Recharge or Electro at all, Skyward Spine is the best choice for Baal. It's the most powerful Polearm that increases both attack speed and critical hit rate, along with generating a small vortex that deals additional damage.
