  • Chapter 3 - Following the drama that unfolds by the Fire Pit, Abigail will rush off into the woods. However, not too long after catching up to Abigail, Nick is attacked by Silas.

How to Infect Abigail

To infect Abigail, you'll need to follow a specific sequence of events after Nick has been attacked in Chapter 3. Unfortunately, this is your only opportunity to infect Abi, so you'll need to ensure you're well prepared for the chase scene that occurs after Nick's attack.

Here's everything Abigail will need to do following Nick's attack to become infected with the werewolf curse.

Choice Outcome
Try to Save Nick Abi will attempt to drag Nick away but the creature will pounce, attempting to bite her. The gunshots will sound again, scaring the creature away.Tap to Reveal

First up, you'll want to try and save Nick from the werewolf, which will attempt to bite her. After you've evaded the creature and left Nick, we'll have to quickly hit a QTE Up and then select run.

Choice Outcome
Run Abi will run over the top of the log, causing you to mash the action buttonas she evades the creature

After escaping the log, you'll arrive at a tree and get an interruption that prompts you to climb it. Ignore the interruption and opt not to climb the tree.

Choice Outcome
Don't Climb the Tree Abi skips the tree segment entirely, moving on to the final part of the chase.

Upon opting not to climb the tree, Abigail will descend some steps and then hide in a small crevice. With the werewolf lurking in the woods above, proceed to fail the QTE and watch as the werewolf bites Abi.

How to Infect Emma

When it comes to infecting Emma, there are two potential locations, each offering a unique scenario that will ultimately affect your ending with Emma, should you succeed in keeping her alive following her infection.

Now, to infect Emma is either Chapter 4 or Chapter 6, here are the steps you need to take to successfully have her infected.

Chapter 4 - First Potential Bite

advertisement

Playing as Emma on The Island in Chapter 4, make your way to the treehouse. Once inside, choose to Search the Bag on the ground to find some new clothes, a taser, and bear spray. Having searched the bag, Emma will open the trapdoor, which will see her having to defend herself from the werewolf. Here, you'll want to use the taser, followed by snapping a photo for your evidence collection.

After snapping a photo of the attack, succeed all of the following QTEs and opt to use the Bear Spray to buy yourself some extra time. Continue succeeding the QTEs until Emma returns to the treehouse. She'll have two options, which you'll want to select block door.

After blocking the door, the werewolf will climb through the nearby open window. Following a short cutscene, opt to use the trapdoor to escape. Following your choice to use the trapdoor, succeed the QTE down as Emma turns to head for the ladder and then fail the QTE down as she attempts to further block the path by pushing over the cabinet, which will see the werewolf grabbing ahold of her arm. Succeed the next QTE and Emma will taser the werewolf while attempting to climb the ladder.

Next, fail the smash QTE as Emma attempts to climb the ladder to the top floor of the treehouse, which will see her leg getting bitten. Now, to survive the scene, succeed the next QTE, and she'll make it safely to the next floor.

Chapter 6 - Second Potential Bite

Now, if you're looking to have Emma be bitten in Chapter 6, you'll need to ensure that she does not have the extra fireworks, which can be picked up earlier in this chapter when searching by the Firepit. Then, having not collected the remaining fireworks, continue through the woods until Emma sees the two hunters nearby and hides behind a tree, watching them as they discuss the trapped werewolf they caught.

Choice Outcome
Run Emma will flee from the hunters but the monster will catch her. If Emma has the firework, she escapes its grasp and runs away. If Emma doesn't have the firework, she'll get bitten by the monster.

Once the hunters are distracted, you'll get an interruption that allows Emma to make a run for it - select this option and watch as Emma is bitten on the leg by the other werewolf that's lurking in the woods.

How to Infect Dylan

To infect Dylan, some pre-requisites that occur in the early chapters of the game need to be taken into account. Without these preparations, Dylan can't be infected.

Here's what you need to do to infect Dylan in Chapter 5.

Chapter 1 - Abigail

To set up the path that sees Dylan becoming infected, Abigail and Emma will need to 'Break In

' to the cabin to collect their bags.

Choice Outcome

Chapter 5 - Ryan

When trapped in the Radio Hut during Chapter 5, Dylan will be forced to grab a wire that was disconnected by the werewolf. When reaching up towards the roof, Dylan's hand will be bitten.

As a result, Ryan will be given the option to cut off Dylan's hand to prevent the infection from spreading. Here, you'll want to select terrified, which will see Ryan refusing to remove Dylan's hand, causing the infection to spread.

Choice Outcome
Terrified Ryan refuses to cut off the arm, locking you down the path where Dylan's bitten.Tap to RevealTap to RevealTap to Reveal

How to Infect Jacob

Much like Dylan, to successfully have Jacob bitten, you'll need to complete a few pre-requisites in the game's early chapters.

In Chapter 3, Jacob will back up into a tripwire, causing a noose to wrap around his leg, suspending him in the air. After mashing the following QTE event, Jacob will eventually come face-to-face with one of the hunters. No matter which option you select, Threatening or Pleading, you'll receive an interruption that follows.

This is where things get serious, as you'll want to throw dirt in the hunter's face. Jacob will not only scramble free but also avoid being blooded, a critical factor that will play a part in him becoming infected during Chapter 6.

Choice Outcome
Throw the Dirt Jacob distracts the hunter, giving him time to scramble to his feet and run

Now, once Jacob has reunited with Emma (she'll need to survive Chapter 4 on The Island) in Chapter 6, you'll soon encounter a werewolf. To ensure that Jacob becomes infected, you'll need to fail the first QTE on the wooden walking bridge. Upon failing, the werewolf will tackle Jacob to the ground, taking a big ol' bite out of his neck.

Surviving the ordeal, thanks to Emma, watch as another cutscene takes place. For Jacob to make it through this chapter alive, choose to run when prompted, followed by succeeding in the interruption. Finally, upon stepping into the bear trap, pry it open and watch as the hunters capture Jacob.

Alternative Bite Scene - Chapter 6

Alternatively, when encountering the werewolf on the wooden walking bridge, you can succeed the initial QTE, which will send Emma into the water below. Escaping the werewolf, for now, Jacob will then be prompted to either run or hide -- you'll want to select run.

Upon running, be sure to fail the smash QTE. Failing this will see the werewolf chasing Jacob down and biting him. Before the werewolf can finish him off, Jedediah will scare it off.

How to Infect Ryan

When Bobby finally catches up to Ryan in Chapter 9, Laura will eventually scare him off after he learns that she too is infected with the werewolf curse. Once Laura calms down and fights the infection, she'll offer to bite Ryan and infect him with the curse to stop him from bleeding out and dying. To infect Ryan, simply accept Laura's offer and do not pull away during the interruption.

Here are the choices you need to make in order to infect Ryan in Chapter 9.

Choice Outcome
(Chapter 9) Ryan Leaves the Knife In After Being Stabbed Ryan won't remove the knife, which will help prevent him from bleeding out as he escapes.
(Chapter 9) Ryan Refuses to Stab Bobby When Ryan runs into Bobby, he'll have the option to stab him through an interruption if the knife is still lodged into his side. Do not press any buttons and let the scene play out. After refusing to stab Bobby, he'll pull the knife from Ryan's side, and Laura will come to his rescue.
(Chapter 9) Ryan Agrees to be Bitten When Ryan's offers the option of becoming infected to heal his wound, accept Laura's offer to be bitten. This will help ensure you're one step closer to the 'good' ending with Silas.

How to Infect Kaitlyn

When Dylan first begins to use the crane in Chapter 9, a cutscene will occur, showing something heading in their direction as the scrapyard's sensor lights turn on. Here are the key choices you need to make to infect Kaitlyn in Chapter 9.

Choice Outcome
(Chapter 9) Warn Kaitlyn Dylan will warn Kaitlyn from the crane, encouraging her to hide. As a result, Kaitlyn will hide in the car.

To have Kaitlyn become infected at the Scrapyard in Chapter 9, here are the steps you'll need to take to see her infected. Your first choice will come in the form of warning Kaitlyn about the impending danger that nears.

advertisement

Choice Outcome
(Chapter 9) Slam Car With the werewolf dangling from the vehicle suspended in the air, Dylan will begin moving the car about, trying to shake the werewolf from the car, but not before Kaitlyn is sent tumbling out of the car.

After hiding in the car, Dylan will begin lifting the car in the air, causing the werewolf to climb on top of the vehicle. Needing to remove the werewolf from the vehicle, select to slam the car when prompted.

As Dylan begins to shake the car about, Kaitlyn will eventually be sent tumbling out of the vehicle, landing on a pile of tires, catching the werewolf's attention. As the werewolf nears Kaitlyn, fail the smash QTE that appears. This will cause Dylan to be delayed in dropping the vehicle, resulting in Kaitlyn being bitten.
