If you grew up watching THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN and THE BIONIC WOMAN, you do not need to be sold on these shows. They are a product of their time and you know what you're getting into when you go back to watch these shows. I was the perfect age to absorb the first few seasons of SMDM... I must have gone through at least eight Steve Austin dolls when I was watching these brand new, purchased at Uncle Don's Toys in Palm Desert back in the day. For decades, fans of the show patiently waited for a good home video presentation. Then Time/Life put out a box set of the complete series of SMDM and I was in sugar shock. The transfers were pretty good on a whole but there was definitely room for improvement. If you're like me and you spent the huge coin on that box set, I can tell you that Shout Factory's new boxset in BD format is a terrific video upgrade on those transfers. They are not all perfect and if you have a BD player that upscales, you may see some minimal visual weirdness. The supplements have been carried over from the previous releases, including commentaries and there are also some great new commentary tracks from author Herbie J. Pilato, who has written THE BIONIC BOOK on both series. If I had to make a complaint about this new release, apart from the exorbitant price, and this is coming from a guy who already spent this kind of money on the box set of Time/Life on DVD... if I had to make a complaint about this release it would be specifically concerning the episodes that have a commentary track. There seems to be a bug that prevents you from having both the captions turned on and the commentary track. I'm sure I'm not alone when I say that's the preferred way to watch a program with a commentary track, especially in 2022. As it stands now with these episodes, you can either listen to the commentary track or have the captions turned on. Weird, right? I don't think Shout Factory will correct this problem that spreads across so many discs so the bottom line is this... if you're a fan of THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN, this new box set from Shout Factory is worth buying for the visual upgrade from DVD to BD and the commentary tracks, of which there are many.

First, a clarification. Since Amazon continues to mix reviews for different formats, I want to let you know exactly which format I'm reviewing - my review is for the recently released (July 2022) Blu Ray collection, for The Six Million Dollar Man/The Complete Series (the official release, from Universal/Shout Factory).

This has always been my favorite series, and I'm glad it's finally on Blu Ray. In my case, I actually pre-ordered this set.....which means yes, I paid a somewhat hefty price. I'm sure in time, as with most other products, this will gradually decrease in cost. Whenever you choose to purchase this, it's definitely worth it!

I am here to tell you that the quality/transfer looks amazing! It must have been remastered, because every episode of every season looks great - a very noticeable difference, when you compare to the DVD releases. The quality is definitely consistent here! I actually felt like I was on set, when these episodes were being filmed, lol. Universal/Shout Factory did this series justice, I kid you not.

As you can see from the description, all three Bionic Reunion movies are also here. They too, look amazing! In fact, 'Bionic Ever After' was remastered in 2K, as the description should also state. Yes, there are good bonus features. Some were carried over from the original DVD release, but they have added some ALL NEW bonus features, as well....check 'em out, they're kind of cool!

Like most of you, cost is a big factor for me. However, seeing as how this is my favorite series & I'm also a collector, buying it right away (regardless of cost) was a no brainer for me, lol! Great quality, this series has never looked better! I would respectfully suggest that before watching this set, make sure (if you haven't already) to use a laser lens cleaner on your Blu Ray player.....and of course, having a good quality TV also helps!

If you like the series, pick this up. Although I think the Time Life package was alot nicer, this set is pretty nice. The outer sleeve is flimsy paper, they could have done better and added a couple bucks to the price tag. The disc menus are poor compared to the Time life set. The discs do not have the episode titles listed, and the episode listing is behind the disc inside the case which you can barely see thru the blue plastic case.
Summary: Great picture quality bad packaging

I have watched a few episodes and I agree with what others have said, and that is the upgrade in picture quality is amazing. To see this series in crystal-clear HD is awesome. I had owned the Time Life set but that came out almost 12 years ago-I know, hard to believe, right? But if you love this series, as I do, you will enjoy how great this transfer looks. Just finished watching "The Secret of Bigfoot" and the details in character's faces, the rocks, trees, etc. is stunning. I highly recommend this purchase if you are thinking of taking the plunge. Your eyes will thank you.

I know this is expensive. However, the picture and the sound is excellent. It is watching the show all brand new. You can clearly see the difference. It is worth the price.
