I truly don't understand how someone can be that clueless of their surroundings.

Ive had it happen to me once when i was walking to school really tired. Car ran over my toes.

I think she saw the bus. Sounds stupid. But i think she saw it. Perhaps she figured no-one wanted to run her over, so she preceeded walking. When she does the hand gesture to hair is when she figures out he is not going to stop. Her being proud, keeps walking. Yep. I have absolutely no idea what im talking about.

I can understand this near a natural wonder. Not while you're crossing a road where you can easily die.

She was concentrating on the other side of the road rather than the one she was on. Humans tend to block out other things when we focus on one.

She was looking the other way for traffic, she was trying to be safe, she just hadn't finished with oncoming traffic, perfect example of a "brain fart"

Go to a college campus. Drive around a little bit where Chinese people walk around. You'll quickly find out how often that happens. It happens frequently and not out of cluelessness a lot of the time. I heard a person giving a tour of a campus once feel the need to tell the chineese people to look both ways when crossing a street and let them know they will get hit if they just keep walking like nobody is coming in the street.

I was that clueless once as a small child and it was pretty simple. Got out of the school bus, talked to other kids on my right and looked for traffic in their direction first while already taking a step forward. Hit the side of a moving bus with my left cheek and luckily only got a small scar there. A second sooner and I would have walked right in front of it.
Makes me drive extra careful when I see children near the road now because I know how oblivious they can be of their surroundings.
