What is the difference between papas fritas and patatas fritas?

On a similar subject, I’ve always known them as patatas fritas in Spain but;

What is the different terms for Chips, Crisps and potatoes? As they all seem to overlap! I’ve heard potatoes obviously be called patatas, I’ve heard chips be called patatas and patatas fritas, and I’ve heard crisps be called patatas fritas as well!
