But the most scenic route is up through Logan and Bear Lake, then north to Jackson. I'm thinking it's about five hours from the airport. You can also go up on I-15 to Idaho Falls and over. That does keep you on interstate, but the distance is greater and I think the travel time is probably about the same. I would really recommend the Bear Lake route.

There are four or five routes from Salt Lake City to Jackson. The fastest route is probably through Evanston, and the most scenic is definitely through Logan Canyon and past Bear Lake. The difference between the fastest and the most scenic is less than 45 minutes, so you're not making up that much time for going the "fast" way. I agree... take the Bear Lake route, and if you like raspberries, stop in Garden City (at the bottom of the mountain at Bear Lake) for a fresh raspberry shake. They're famous!

Re: scenic route from SLC to Jackson, WY 13 years ago Here's my recommendation: Take I-15 north and after you pass Ogden, take US 89/91 towards Willard/Perry. There are loads of local fruit and vegetable stands. Stop and get some fresh fruit. The cherrys, peaches, and everything else are great. Not to mention, it's a more scenic drive than staying on I-15. It's probably a 20-30 minute drive from when you get off I-15 until you need to turn right (still on 89/91) towards Logan as you approach Brigham City. From there, go through Logan, Logan Canyon and on to Bear Lake. There's a great overlook at the top of Logan Canyon where you can see Bear Lake. From there you can probably figure out the way to Jackson from previous posts.

Re: scenic route from SLC to Jackson, WY 13 years ago A couple weeks ago we went to Jackson via I-15 / Idaho Falls and then returned via 89 / Bear Lake. Both drives were great! Probably 4.5 hours. There are awesome raspberry shakes at Merlins (Bear Lake) that are a must stop. 5. Re: scenic route from SLC to Jackson, WY 12 years ago This topic has been closed to new posts due to inactivity.
