Mathew Myers has shown in a short time that with his distinct voice and commitment to radio that he definitely belongs. Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Mathew grew up listening to the local R&B station, WZAK, and dreamed to one day be a part of this iconic station. He has shown that through hard work and perseverance that dreams do come true. Mathew attended the Ohio Center for Broadcasting where he excelled as a student and earned his first on air job as host of the school’s Beonair.com internet Rock station. During his time in broadcasting school, Mathew began an internship with Radio One Cleveland where he began to display his extreme work ethic and voice talents to everyone he would encounter. These actions led to Radio One hiring Mathew shortly after him finishing school. In time, Mathew began his On Air career with 93.1 WZAK first by filling in on the weekends and then eventually was named Co-host & Producer of the Sunday morning program Access Cleveland. Mathew’s passion for radio led him to reach out for more responsibilities. He was rewarded by management with a promotion to Music Director for WZAK. Mathew continued to make a positive impact on upper management and Mathew soon reached out for even more responsibilities, so when the Assistant Program Director position became available with WXMG he jumped at the chance. With these new duties, Mathew strives to do all he can to entertain, engage, and give back to the Columbus community.

3. GINA PERFORMED THE SONG, “PUSH,” IN THE “VARIETY SHOW” EPISODE WHICH WAS TISHA CAMPBELL’S ACTUAL SINGLE SHE RELEASED IN 1993.

4. IN THE “OLD SCHOOL LOVING” EPISODE WHERE MARTIN GETS GINA FIRED, SHE DECIDES SHE WANTS TO REDECORATE THEIR BEDROOM IN PINK AND GREEN BECAUSE THEY’RE THE COLORS OF HER SORORITY, WHICH MEANS SHE IS A MEMBER OF ALPHA KAPPA ALPHA SORORITY, INC. (WATCH AT THE 15:33 MARK.)

5. ACTRESSES TISHA CAMPBELL AND TICHINA ARNOLD HAVE BEEN WORKING TOGETHER LONG BEFORE “MARTIN.” THE TWO WERE IN THE 1986 MOVIE “LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS” AS PART OF THE SINGING TRIO.

6. SPEAKING OF MOVIES, MARTIN LAWRENCE, TISHA CAMPBELL, AND CHRISTOPHER “KID” REID WERE ALL IN THE HIT “HOUSE PARTY.” THAT LEAD THEM TO KID APPEARING IN THE “FOREVER SHENENEH” EPISODE WHERE HE WAS MATCHED UP WITH SHENENEH FROM MARTIN’S RADIO SHOW CONTEST.

7. IN THE “GUARD YOUR GRILL” EPISODE WHERE MARTIN FOUGHT TOMMY HEARNS IN A BOXING MATCH, MARTIN KNEW A THING OR TWO ABOUT BOXING DESPITE GETTING HIS ASS HANDED TO HIM. AS A TEEN, HE WAS A GOLDEN GLOVES BOXER.

8. R&B GROUP TAKE 6 PERFORMED THE THEME SONG FOR SEASONS FOUR AND FIVE.

9. IN SEASON FIVE, THERE WAS TURMOIL ON THE SET. TISHA CAMPBELL SUED MARTIN LAWRENCE AND THE SHOW’S PRODUCERS FOR SEXUAL HARRASSMENT. IT WAS SETTLED AND SHE AGREED TO COMPLETE FILMING, BUT SHE WOULD NOT APPEAR IN ANY MORE SCENES WITH LAWRENCE. (WATCH AT THE 19:12-19:50 MARK.)
