When is Blue Bell Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream available

Blue Bell ice cream, a true Southern favorite, made a major announcement last week: It's officially bringing back one of its fan-favorite flavors.

In a social media post, the beloved ice cream company revealed it's re-launching its strawberry cheesecake flavor. This flavor was originally introduced in 1977.

"Smile and say cheesecake! Our Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream returns to stores beginning today," the brand revealed. "Strawberry Cheesecake is a rich cheesecake ice cream with cheesecake pieces, succulent strawberries and swirls of delicious strawberry sundae sauce."

According to the company, the flavor will likely be in rotation for about three months before going back into the vault.

Fans immediately rejoiced at the news, sharing their appreciation for the comeback on social media with Blue Bell.

"Blue bell is releasing a strawberry cheesecake flavor. I'm about to gain all my weight back," one fan joked.

"Yay!! Blue Bell brought back strawberry cheesecake ice cream!! What a blessing," another excitedly added.

Beyond the return of the flavor the company also announced its return to stores in and around Kansas City.

"We are glad to be back and excited to be in a position to expand our sales territory," Jimmy Lawhorn, vice president, sales and marketing for Blue Bell, shared in a statement. "There have been countdowns on social media and a great deal of anticipation from ice cream fans waiting to see our products at their local stores. We are extremely thankful for the warm response from so many of them."

According to Lawhorn, the company currently employs 15 people in the Kansas City area, with plans to bring in more staff to help with the opening.

Sadly for Northerners, you're still going to have to travel south to get a scoop. Blue Bell, established in 1907 as the Brenham Creamery Company in Brenham, Texas, is still only available in 23 states including Alabama, Arizona,Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, the Carolinas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Wyoming.

- Find Best Match: By default, your shopper will use their best judgement to pick a replacement for your item.
- Pick Specific Replacement: You can pick a specific alternative for the shopper to purchase if your first choice is out-of-stock.
- Don't Replace: For items you'd rather not replace, choose "Don't replace" to get a refund if the item is out of stock.
